Hiders,
Obviously, the word is out about these. We receive our small allotment tomorrow, just like every other dealer who was selected to receive the first batch of scopes. We offered one to Lowlight but he was already taken care of.
Ours are already sold, to a couple of Hiders who have been waiting a long time for them.
We are an authorized Vortex dealer and have embraced the company and it's products from the beginning. I'm very excited to check out the new Razor. I will compare it directly next to an Premier 3-15x50 optically and offer my impressions of it. I'll leave the hard-core testing to others.
A comment on price. I've seen some posts speculating/hoping that a street price with rings might come to about $1500 on the 5-20x50 Razor HD. I'm here to tell you that under the current dealer pricing structure this is not going to happen. More to the point, the scope itself won't be available for that kind of price. We all understand MAP policies and off the table transactions that give you guys a deal but I want to put the notion to rest that this scope is going to sell at the $1500 price point. The reality is the scope will sell on the downhill slide to $2K. Time will tell if the consumer feels it is money well spent. I will have further comment after I get my hands on one.
Anyway, the fact we are receiving these scopes at all speaks volumes as to how far we have come in six years. Vortex is a big time player in the industry who are really just getting started in the tactical market. I posted here awhile back I think they will dominate the market in the near future at every reasonable price point. They just happened to first roll out the top-of-the-line product to get everybody's attention! Lots more good stuff is coming down the pike.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let the spotlight shine on the new Razor combat ready riflescope, it's time has come.
Thanks for all your kind support.
Scott
