I wonder how difficult it would be to spot trace with these (in conditions where I can see it just fine with my Leupold Mk4 spotter)...

All I saw in the manual was "use a tripod mount for maximum accuracy" (duh!) in the ranging section. This could be anything (remember when spotters had no attachment points?). I didn't see any attachment point in the features, hence the question.

So I ask again do these have a threaded hole and a flat spot for attachment to most tripods?

Yes, there is a cap on the front hinge that unscrews where you can mount a tripod adapter. It uses a 1/4-20 thread.

Judging from all the Vortex stuff I have/ have had compared to loopy stuff I have/have had, I'd say they will every bit as good and likely noticeably better.

Well, of course I'm going to be biased, but I think they are better binoculars than the MkIV's. The Vipers are sharper and brighter and I think our reticle design is also much better.

Our reticle allows you to put the object in the center of the FOV, without being obstructed by the reticle, while ranging. Since axially symmetric optical systems always have their best resolution in the center of the FOV, this is ideal for something like a binocular.

I received a pair of these on Monday evening. My first impressions after some admitedly light use so far...

VERY nice workmanship and design.

Built like a tank.

Excellent image quality... IOW "great glass". IMHO noticably better then my current Steiner binocs.

Focus is supurb, color rendition, excellent resolution, very
accurate focus, no areas fuzzy or out of focus even at extended range in low light.

The ranging reticle, something I'm always suspicious of, is one of the best I've seen or used on binocs... very nice, clear, totally in-focus after adjustment.

Asthetics are great, weight and overall size are just right for me. The size isn't insignificant for those who think a Chiefs Special is to big and heavy to carry there is a smaller version... but I have no complaint, perfect for me and my style of shooting/stalk.

10x50 .. OK, I've never owned a pair of binocs above 8x42 as I wasn't a fan of the higher power for a hand held optic. I'm too damn old and shakey for high power unsupported. But... I'm not sure if it's their ergonomics or just the fantastic quality of the lens in these but... I'm giving my 8x42 Steiners to my wife. With these I think 10X is just right... and the 50mm and lens coatings really do gather way more light then I'm used to. I was
viewing deer at 400 yds this morning on my way to work at about 6 AM (dark/dusk) and could discern the spikes on a little buck... just a blurr with my 8x42 Steiner binocs.

I volunteered to work "sighting in days" (Pre-opener for Wisconsin Deer Season) this weekend at my Gun Club so I plan on giving them a workout at various ranges (out to 600) and on various targets. Gonna have a few others try them out and get some reactions... I'm VERY happy with these so far.
