Hi All,
I think this is my first post. I just started shooting bolt guns after ten years off. But when I used to shoot I didnt know a thing, and still dont.

i just bought a Remington 700 sps tac AAC in .308. Then bought a Vortex PST 4-16X50, a B&C stock, harris bipod (brm-s) and ordered a KRG bolt on bolt knob. Other then needing trigger time, in a minth or so I was thinking of getting a new trigger, what are your guys thoughts? And if for some reason I posted this in the wrong spot, my appologies. Im new.

. But any and all advice is appreciated. Ive been reading a lot of stuff on here, great site!

Good looking simple build brother. I just did similar with a howa varmint cos they are just so much cheaper than rem actions down here in aus. As for the trigger..... Shoot the sh!t out of it and if you don't like it then change it? My2c

Re: Newb questions sbout a 700

I started with a similar rifle; definitely get an aftermarket trigger. PM me if you have questions on the install, it is simple as can be. I eventually traded out my B&C stock as well, just never found it comfortable.

Re: Newb questions sbout a 700

I love my jewel trigger. It did require some minor inletting on my aics in order for the safety to clear. I'm not sure how it would fit in the B&C, but either way it only took a few minutes with a dremel. The trigger is very easy to adjust.

Re: Newb questions sbout a 700

Thanks guys! Ill PM a few of ya when I get home from work. Ive had the rifle for a fee months now, im so hooked on shooting it. Want to try out some local 600 yard matches, but also not sure how itll do for those.

Re: Newb questions sbout a 700

I have a jewel on one rifle and a Remington on another while the jewel is great but can have problems when it's dirty. The Remington trigger just works and feels fine tune it to where you are happy and run with it. In the end do whatever feels best to you

Re: Newb questions sbout a 700

I have 4 jewell triggers now. I have had trouble with 2 of them. I will now only be running jewell in my BR rifles. Since all the trouble (not saying jewell is a bad trigger because they're not, just not THE most durable) I have gone to the x-mark pro tuned by G.A. Precision. I have not liked those triggers until George told me about the advantages of them. I have had them tune my triggers and will have them tune more. I have saved money and feel much better about them. They are allright stock, but feel great after being tuned. The Jewell does feel better but I will take more reliablity over a trigger that breaks just a little bit better. Good luck, ohh and by the way. 1st round hit the other day at 920 yds with it so I don't think it has effected accuracy from me to the rifle.
