hi all,
I am brand new to long range shooting. just got a 700 tactical aac and have a swfa ss 10x scope coming. any imput on selection for base, rings, bipod, muzzle break ect would be greatly appreciated. my plan is to get a basic rilfe going, then shoot the heck out of it till i figure out hopefully what im doing and then get into all the upgrades. and customizing later. the main thing im stuggling with right now is selection of rings, base and also ring height. thank you in advance

Just built a rig for the same purpose.

Remignton 700 AAC-SD 308 20in
SWFA 10 power scope
SWFA low rings
TPS 20moa rail
Haris 6-9 swivel bipod with notched legs.
AAC single chamber brake.

Shoots great.
Spend any other money you have on range time.
Stock will be the first weak link. Not something that needs to be changed right away, but soon you might feel it is what is holding you back. Focus on things that will make you and the rifle a better shooter.

I like the EGW 20 MOA Base which has the built in Recoil Clip towards the front against the top of the action opening. For the Rings I like the Millet Tactical Rings. Good job on the scope, can't go wrong with SWFA.

Same set up as surffly just different companies: 700 aac sd with a pws break, xtr low rings, weaver 20 moa base, upgraded the swfa 10x to a viper vortex last week and threw it in a B and C stock. real tack driver.

My recommendations would be:

Seekins 20moa base
Seekins rings (low height)
Harris BRM-s bipod with notched legs and pod lock
Ross Schulers brake

Then if your not happy with the factory hogue stock start looking to see what you like.
