Hello all. I recently discovered my love for long range shooting. I enjoy the challenge and time that has to be put in to become proficent. I am pretty good with irons as I have been practicing a lot with my cousins who are USMC, as I will be an officer in a couple years time. I am looking to become a little better with my scoped rifles, and would like some advice as to any modifications I should make to my rifle. Currently my long range rifle is a Tikka T3 Lite (Stainless/Synthetic) in .300WM with a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 atop along with Leupold bases and rings. I have decided that I would really like to add a muzzle brake, and am wondering if there is anything else of significance that I should have done while it is in the shop...? I am looking at the williams gunsight guide series brake.
I also recently ordered a Remington 40-X heavy barrel from the CMP and would like to use that as a practice rifle as well. What do you guys recommend for decent glass that wont break the bank? I had a mueller APV on a Ruger 10/22T previously that I liked and have also been hearing great things about nikon.
Thanks!
