I find the NPR-1 a little thin for hunting. Just doesn't pop against a dark back ground for me.

I prefer the NPR-2 and MOAR for field use, and the MOAR the most of all. I really like the center floating cross hair incorporated with the 1 moa breakdown (just me but I find the 2moa substensions on the NPR-2 too course of an adjustment). I find that the MOAR and NPR-2 pop against a dark back ground the best out of all the MOA reticle offerings.

Re: NF reticle choices

Rite now I'm between the NSX in 5.5-22x56 or 8-32x56 with the MOAR, NP-R1, or NP-R2. Leanin towards the MOAR....
Or the ATACR with either the MOAR or Mil-R...

Re: NF reticle choices

NP-R1 and NP-R2 are the same line thickness - .0625 MOA.

The MOAR is twice as thick as the NP-R1 & R2 - .125 MOA but still thin enough to be precise. The thickness of the MOAR lends itself very well to field work.

The MOAR has quickly become the number one selling reticle we offer.

Re: NF reticle choices

You will be limited to 65 MOA of internal travel with the 8-32 and the reticle still subtends at 22x.

The 22x provides 100 MOA of internal travel in a 30mm tube

The ATACR provides 120 MOA of internal travel in a 34mm tube and uses HD/ED glass and it is 1" shorter than the 22x

Just trying to help you make up your mind by providing pertinent data.

Re: NF reticle choices

Im still chewin on the extra $ for the ATACR. But if not, the 5.-22x56 NSX.
I guess i need to decide on MiL or Moa also...more than likely MiL...and mil.adjustments...and SFP or FFP...

Re: NF reticle choices

I'm glad you're here 00bullitt because I wanted to ask what is probably a silly question. The ATACR is shorter but in the pictures I have seen it looks like it doesn't have a sun shade on it which makes the NXS look so much longer. Is the sun shade actually on it but is half the size of the NXS's shade?

The ATACR and the NXS both use a 3" sunshade, it is actually the same sunshade used on the 56mm NXS models.

The ATACR is just at a full inch shorter than the 22X NXS.

No, there are F1(FFP) optimized variants for F1's and then there are SFP variants.
