Rifle Scopes NF zerostop how to..

Re: NF zerostop how to..

I have directions on my website, here:

http://www.shootingvoodoo.com/index.php/...p_instructions/

Setting it is pretty easy, with the factory settings it should be pretty easy to get a 100 yard zero. After that unscrew the two small set screws on the cap and remove the cap. Once that's done, loosen the four set screws in the top of the assembly and rotate the top portion of the clutch clockwise until it hits the hard stop. Once that's done, retighten the four screws but be careful to not put too much torque on it and then reinstall the cap. That, in a nutshell is how you set the zero stop on the NF scopes.

If you've got the scope zero'd in as you like it, you can just take the turrets off, loosen the 4 allen screws, turn till it stops, tighten your screws and you're good to go.

Re: NF zerostop how to..

FYI,

The biggest mistake I've seen made with the ZS system on the full size NXS are over tightening the four set screws underneath the turret and snapping one off or removing the four screws and ZS assembly then putting them back in the wrong wholes.

When all else fails read and follow the instructions

Re: NF zerostop how to..

It was so simple even I could do it.
The first scope I got with ZS was not though. It has a different looking clutch assembly (silver in color). I followed all the instructions but couldn't get it to budge. I didn't want to tear anything up so I aborted. Then on the next one the clutch was black and everything went smoothly. I got the original scope back out and then was able to set it. It was just very stiff and took more effort to turn down to the stop position.

i had this problem with my first nightforce, it was stiff and i had to hold steady with a flathead screw driver while tightening the zero stop down, it would adjust if i didn't. some are just a little stiff

The above method really works. Tried it last week on my 5-5-22X50 NXS at it worked like a charm.
