NFL MVP Alejandro Villanueva

I give my respect to Mr. Villanueva. But, FUCK HIS TEAMMATES! I have nothing for them but contemp & an utter lack of respect. There's no way I could be friends w/ any of those pieces of shit. Ever. Disrespect for our flag & all that it stands for, not to mention all those who've given everything for it sickens me.

its not even like they took a knee.....they hid in the locker room, like a bunch of cowards.

probably too big of pussies to handle the booing theyve been getting.

They are a bunch of cowards. That's precisely the reason they stayed in the locker room. Those guys stand for nothing. They have no personal code of honor. It's all a popularity contest. These guys are thinking "How do I remain relevant? I know, I'll jump on the SJW bandwagon. I'll get a bunch of social media 'likes' & I'll be popular in today's media." They may be popular in today's medua but they'll remain a shitstain in history.

Wow. I am from western Pennsylvania - not too far from Pittsburgh. I've always been proud of Pittsburgh. I was proud of it because there were a lot of tough, no nonsense guys that came from here. Yeah there were a lot of immigrants from other countries. Germans, Hungarians, Polish, Slovak, Italians, Czechs - those guys worked in the steel mills and were the original "hunkies." And they were all LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Not too long ago though, the city government of Pittsburgh began discussing ways to become a sanctuary city. And now this. The whole fucking Steelers football team with the exception of the head coach and a couple of others. And of course Major Alejandro Villanueva who stood with his hand over his heart singing the national anthem.

All I can say is if Jack Lambert was still a Steeler, he'd have killed the whole lot of them. And he would have made it look easy.

To every player, coach or owner that takes a knee, holds hands or hides in the locker room; you are scum, I could care less what color you are.

To Alejandro Villanueva; Mad respect for you and gratitude for your service.

To all you sjw’s; Mr. Villanueva’’s conduct is how you earn respect.

Obviously, Mr. Villanueva’'s heritage is Hispanic. I am White. So, tell me again how it is that I’’’'m a racist ? Un-fucking believable......

One man in a sea of pussies.

[h=1]Jersey for Army vet Steelers player who chose to stand alone for the national anthem is an instant bestseller -while the coach says he's disappointed 100% of players didn't skip out[/h]
  • Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin took a swipe at Alejandro Villanueva
  • 'I was looking for 100 per cent participation,' Tomlin said after the team's loss

I guess Villanueva understands the difference between real life and sacrifice while the "disappointed" Tomlin lives in fantasyland.

Glad AV's shirts are outselling all others but I wish profits were going to Fisher House not the NFL.

Sorry to keep coming back to this but...

Man I hope Alejandro achieves the icon status that Rick Monday has deserved since this....

https://youtu.be/lJe2Ew-rhx8

His gesture is right up there with Rick Monday and the 1980 Hockey Team patriotism wise in regards to sports.

Cool, thanks! I had not seen that before.

Shit, the video is right there on the page... You tell me.

All Im getting is the audio and its very muted barely audible, could barely discern it. its like his words were being distorted by swallowed pride and choking on the West Point Honor Code.

He is being wrecked in the comments sections of the few places Ive looked it up. Turn in your TAB and Scroll are typical rants.

The man did brave things and sacrificed much while serving. I find it hard to fault him.

He knows what the truth of yesterday was and if it is not what he rambled on about in his statement I think he will be deeply disturbed going forward.

FUCK THEM ALL! I'm done with all this BS. You either stand for the greatest country in the world, or you don't. It's that simple. I don't give a rats ass what he or people like McCain did in the past. THEY threw it all away by their actions in the present.

Just because you have the right to do something, doesn't mean you should. Fuck them all, including the NFL sponsors.

Huh, audio/video is fine for me. Sounded pretty much like the team had a plan to stay in/around the locker room during the anthem, but he started getting a bunch of texts from vets and caved to peer pressure.

No video, all Im hearing is mumbly audio. Ill look around for it elsewhere.

So if he caved to "peer" pressure from vets why is he throwing them under the bus now?

I saw that idiot Shannon Sharpe trying to equate being on a football team as to being in a military unit.

Sure there are the metaphors of "being in the trenches" but when has Shannon Sharpe ever had to apply a tourniquet on the field or worried about landing on a landmine in the end zone?

One is real with forever consequences one is a game with do overs and instant replay.

This is the whole thing, i set the time to 3 minutes, at about 3:30 he starts talking about the texts and how he fucked everyone by not giving them an opportunity to not do whatever it was their plan was. He does kinda ramble on, though.

eta: fuck, 3 minutes are only 180 seconds, not 280.

Saw it in the clear.

What struck me was when he said "I made a mistake".

Yes, yes he did but I dont think the mistake was made yesterday.

He was getting texts from wounded vets and others urging him to represent them.

He did.

Than he threw them under the bus today.

He didnt prevent the other team mates from doing whatever they wanted to do. They are grown men. They can do what they want.

Can't really say for sure what any of these folks are trying to achieve. All I know is there are only a few formalities I give a fuck about. I'll stand, take my hat off, and cover my heart with my right hand for the pledge of allegiance, for the national anthem, and for taps.

You're right, I hadn't seen any of this (it hadn't come out yet) when I made my post. What a shitshow, all the way around.......

Wasn't really a celebration on my part, just recognition of what I thought was someone doing the right thing. In that context, the right thing in my opinion is for all personnel from both teams being on their respective sidelines in advance of the National Anthem and showing the proper respect. If they don't want to do that, fine, fuck 'em. I've already voted with my wallet re; Hollywood. Just made the choice in the last day to vote with my wallet re; NFL.

I'm losing respect for him by the minute.

“Every single time I see that picture of me standing by myself, I feel embarrassed,”

Well, fuck you then.

Alejandro, you did what you did. Right, wrong, or indifferent stand by it and don't be a back-pedaling, excuse-making sea-lawyer. That's part of what it means to be a real man.

Hopefully his embarrassment stems from being a member of a profession so dominated by piss-sucking-aunts and not from doing the correct thing. Still it matters not to me The last NFL game I will ever watch was the Rainbow themed Superbowl, I learned all I needed to know about the NFL that day. If any of you are still watching you either support them or you are in denial.

He will never make captain and will be given a general discharge due to failure to promote. That's the easiest, cleanest way to get rid of this shitbag

If that's Villanueva's final statement then I agree w/ 308 Pirate. So the guy is either; A) a dumbass & unable to follow simple directions or B) has a moral compass that tracks true, but lacks the balls to stand up for himself. Then again, it may just be a lack of moral conviction. Either way, I have little empathy for the guy at this point. He made a decision & now he lacks the intestinal fortitude to stand by said decision. Whatever happened to being a man? I have no more time for Villanueva, the Steelers or the NFL.

Roethlisberger came out later & said something to the effect of "We all wanted to be out there, we should have all been out there..." My thoughts were "But you weren't. You (team) chose to stay inside while our national anthem played & pout a like two-year-old having a tantrum. I'm so sick of athletes & celebrities who think their opinions matter more than anyone else's.

Tom Brady also came out & said "Trumps comments are divisive." With friend's like Brady... I'm sure he's reading the script given to him by his wife.

With a day or so of seething on AV going from hero to zero I think Im softening on him a little bit and beginning to redirect my anger back where it belongs.

The anger needs to be focused on the Tomlins, Goodells and others of their ilk that claim to profess their support for the Country and its values such as "Free Speech" while at the same time denying others the right to express free speech when their opinions differ from theirs.

I think AV did something ballsy and than he was called on it by the sjw management of the Steelers. Im guessing he was pretty much told his career was done if he didn't provide cover and apologize for so explicitly showing the world how gross and disgusting the kneel down protest is.

Enormous pressure for a young guy with a family and getting the opportunity that only 1% of 1% of the population gets a shot at. Enormous pressure even for a guy such as AV that had already had the credibility of being 1% of the 1% as a decorated Ranger.

The anger shouldn't be leveled at AV but at the political beast that is going to put their knee in the groin of a decorated combat vet and force him to deny the country he fought for.

I wonder how this will go for AV is he going to brush it off and just say "Wow, glad I was able to undo that and save my career" or will this gnaw at his soul.

I worked with a guy that did a high profile principled thing and he ended up being retired for it. In the end it turned out well for him and he has experienced very positive opportunities. His action was so good, public opinion so positive, that it wasn't possible for the powers to be to hurt him even though they probably wanted to.

Im sure the second guy lives with a clean conscience.

I don't know dick but I speculate AV wont have that peace.

Shame on Goodell for putting AV in that position I bet they view the harm they did to him and having him deny the Flag are seen as a great victory for their cause.

How long has he been playing? If more than a couple of years at his level, wouldn't he have a salary that most of us can only dream of? And if he does, did he do the prudent thing and safeguard it?

I could not work for an organization that showed such disrespect for what I stand for. Sooner or later I would find a way to leave.

He got cut from the Eagles practice team and Pittsburgh signed him. I don't think he has a long career and his position though important seems to be one that there is always another strong, heavy guy waiting in the wings to fill the spot.

Unsure the value of his contract but isn't minimum pay something close to $1mil. Not enough to live on for life but with his history and what was a positive story I could have seen giving up the NFL, avoiding possible injury, adopting another career and most importantly maintaining my conscience.

A coward dies many deaths a brave man but one.

AV is not a coward but if the story is other than he stated in his press conference I imagine he is losing sleep.

Whatever the story is, follow your moral compass. The way I see this is quite simple; I've got to look at myself in the mirror. Also, my children see my actions & will judge me by them at some point.

I have no no plans of being remembered for betraying anyone. I feel offended by AV because not only did he betray me, but more importantly each & every one of my fellow veterans going back to our founding. He was unwilling to stand up for our standard, the American flag. Based on his actions I have no further use for this tool.
