February was all-carbine, so swinging it back the other way, March's match will be all-precision.

March 24, 0830

Because it is still early in the year, we are doing something unique and running an "Introductory" match. This one will be designed for the shooter who is new to precision shooting, but still has enough command over his rifle to be able to manipulate the scope knobs, and shoot it at various distances.

If you've got a precision rifle but don't bring it out that much, this match is tailor made for YOU.

There will be experienced shooters there to help out, and we will be using spotter discs on many stages so you will see exactly where your hits are going.

Stages will include long range engagements out to 637 Yards, moving targets, an urban stage, and multiple distance exercises on the steel for all to enjoy.

Course of fire will be between 50 and 60 rounds.

Online registration is required. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHA2eWVROGI2VFRIVDdyVTJid1dOaHc6MQ

$20 members, $30 guests.

Please note that when you click "Submit," you need to SCROLL UP to see the confirmation message. There are no automated emails sent out.

Hope to see some new faces out there!

Hank - you'll be fine. These are fun matches with a good bunch of guys.

Freddy - I'm out for this one. Scheduled for arthroscopy on both knees on the 15th, not sure I'll be up for that kind of movement by the match date. I hope to be back in April or May!

It's a club match/event, not a BHTC one.

We are doing this as a service to the club and the sport to increase participation. It's not a class or a course, but a match that will include a whole lot of hints, suggestions, and guidance. Individual marksmanship instruction, or lessons that coincide with the CoF are not provided during this match, although we are a training company, and can easily work further with you if desired.

I will send an email out to those registered within a week of the match date with reporting instructions.

You will need:

1 - ZEROED rifle, with scope (min 10x) Capable of 1MOA accuracy, and some idea of the drop settings for you to shoot out to 637 yards. We can assist if you tell us the caliber, and the ammo you are using (know the velocity if non-factory).

2 - Bipod (recommended) on the rifle, or shooting front rest of your choice.
3 - 60 rounds of match grade ammunition.
4 - Rear bag / sand sock
5 - eye / ear protection
6 - $30 bucks (non-members)
7 - A data book or notebook at minimum is <span style="font-weight: bold">HIGHLY</span> recommended.
8 - Allen wrenches, or other tool to adjust your scope caps.
9 - The manual for your rifle scope if you are not intimately familiar with it. If you do not know for certain what magnification setting your scope's reticle is calibrated to, <span style="font-weight: bold">BRING THE MANUAL</span>.

10 - <span style="font-weight: bold">Your head in the game.</span> Part of the learning curve for this match is how to act and carry yourself at a competition to prevent you from becoming "<span style="font-weight: bold">that</span> guy." Remember what relay you are assigned to. Remember which target you are assigned when on the firing line. Be SURE you are shooting at the correct target and not your neighbor's. Know what distance we are shooting at, and what the stage round count is. Pay attention when stage instructions are given. None of this is hard to do, and if we can get you conditioned to handle this environment now, you will be cheerfully welcomed at any precision/tactical match you attend.

10 - <span style="font-weight: bold">Readiness.</span>The match is<span style="text-decoration: line-through"> just about</span> full to range capacity. To that end we will need to conduct it at a pace that leaves very little time to tarry. When you are not shooting, you should be getting ready to do so. When you are called on to shoot, you should already be on the gun, the correct dope on your optic, parallax set, just waiting for the command to load. When we are shooting moving targets and it is not your turn, it's smart to stay on the gun and dry fire to get some practice (this is permitted). When it's time to move to a different yardage, have your stuff packed up, all ready to go.

Thanks, looking forward to a great time, and to creating some new competitors!

Thanks to everyone who came out. The weather mostly cooperated except for a short sprinkle.

Congrats to the top finishers!

Guys shooting the ninja CoF are scored separately, at the bottom.

Everyone did fantastic and it was a pleasure to shoot with you all. A question mark means I need your score (not on the sheet).

Thanks,
