Hello members, I have a NF 2.5-10x32 with the low velocity reticle for my 16.5" REPR, GG&G bipod, and Geissele trigger. I shoot targets out to 2-300 yards. After I bought the NF 2.5-10x32 I had thought that I should have gone with the NF 3.5-15x50, is there any much more advantage with the more powerful glass on the REPR with what I'm using it for? I have an LWRC M6A2 in 6.8 that I could use the lower power on and go with the larger scope on the REPR. What is the real difference between the two in my situation that someone has some experience in using, is the 2.5-10x32 large enough(I've never looked through a 3.5-15x50), and do any of you shooters use the 2.5-10x32 or is it lacking in light and magnification? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tim.

Re: Night force comparisons

IMHO, I think the 2.5-10 is perfect for a precision AR. The 3.5-15x will allow for even more precision, but it's starting to add some serious weight and bulk to an otherwise handy AR. Just my $.02.

I'll be swapping my TA31a ACOG for a NF 2.5-10x32mm LV on my 16" Noveske SS Recon when funds allow.

Edit to add: I'm a dumbass. I thought this was for an 5.56mm AR. On a 7.62, the 3.5-15x may be ideal.

Re: Night force comparisons

Hey Matt33 you're not a dumbass, in my case shooting either 5.56 or 7.62 makes no real difference at 300 yards(I can barely see the inspection sticker on the scope). thanks for the reply though. Does anyone out there have a personal review of their own NF nxs 2.5-10x32 to share with me? I know I'm on the right Forum, I'm not buying any watches, preparing for TEOTWAWKI on WaRifles, or remembering my cousin Joe Kelley on the 110th floor at Cantor Fitzgerald.
Thanks, Tim.

Re: Night force comparisons

My dad and a friend both have the 2.5-10x32. I really dig that scope. Nice compact little package with great glass, and no parallax knob to monkey with.

Re: Night force comparisons

I have 2.5-10-32 compact on my AR10 and love it, its plenty bright for hunting at dusk and its lite compared to the 3.5-15, the BDC is a little to far off for precision shooting or really long hunting shoots with my 18" barrel, maybe I can get my loads going a little faster, but if all you need to do is ring some steel fast its perfect for that. Now I'm not a super sniper or anything, I shoot a lot of 3 gun, but I've just started to shoot some F class and used that scope using the turrets to dial dope, it did what it was supposed to and I had no problems seeing or hitting at 600, hope this helps

Re: Night force comparisons

IMO NF's 2.5-10x24 is even better than the 32 because it's more compact - plus you don't gain a big enough light advantage to warrant the 32 bell.

Does the increased exit pupil of the 32mm make a noticeable difference? I've only looked through a 32mm version and never owned either.

Have the same question as well.

I have the NF 2.5-10x24 with LV reticle on a short AR.Very pleased with the set up and no complaints. When I shoot with it I don't miss the side focus that is on my other scopes, why I don't know.I've tuned my load and the sight in distance to match the ret perfectly out to 600Y.

The 32mm model will let in more light but you'll probably only notice the difference at dawn or dusk.

Re: Night force comparisons

Hey, thanks for the input Members. Re25: I originally had the 2.5-24x10 but it looked a little small on the REPR, plus I thought I would benefit from the 32mm objective, so I sold that one (which I should have kept like everything else I've sold in my life). So I take it that I really have no need to up it to the 3.5-15x50 for what I do with my REPR. Those of you with experience with the NF 2.5-10x32 find it more than adequate for the average user like myself I take it? So I'll let that rest and now embark on an odyssey to find a good and appropriate scope for my Ruger 77/22, any suggestions?
Thanks all, Tim.

I agree the 24 looks better, but like you I would prefer a larger exit pupil. Maybe I'll compare these two in person at Euro Optics (I'm going there Tuesday to pick up a TRG). I'll report back...

NF don't make the 24 any longer but you can still get them if you look around. The 24 is 2 inches shorter than the 32 which I think makes a big difference on a carbine. In terms of exit pupil advantage I read somewhere that the 32 gives you something like 3 more minutes of shooting time in low light. I suppose the question you have to ask is how much low light shooting do you do?
