I just purchased a new 5.5-22 NXS with a zero stop. I looked at the instructions to set the zero stop and followed them I though. The process involves removing the cap and loosening 4 set screws on a clutch. The instructions said to tighten the screws to 4 inch pounds after you adjust the stop and get your zero. I do not know what 4 inch pounds is but it aint much. I began to tighten the screws very little when one stripped. I checked on the next screw and it stripped also. I tried to be very careful when I tightened the screws. I called Nightforce and they told me it would be 100 bucks to fix it and it would be 4 to 6 weeks. I asked them to just remove the zero stop and I would dial the scope. They said no problem that would be 250 bucks. I can't begin to tell you how Pi##ed off I was. I had this scope 4 days and paid 1810.00 dollars for it and the comment the tec maid was there is a easy way to set the stops. I asked him why it was not in the instructions and he had no answer. I sold the scope today for 1300.00 and took a 500 dollar hit. I planned on buying 4 new nightforce scopes. But they can now kiss my ###. Great customer service Nightforce . I have spent over 3600.00 on Nightforce scopes in the last 2 months. I have another 5.5-25 without the stops and it is great. I know several people have the scopes with the stops and have not had any problems but I think the design of the clutch and the 4 screws is poor. The screws look like they belong in a watch not a scope. Beleive me I did not reef on the screws I did what they said to do used the long end of the allen wrench and they stripped with very little pressure. I have a muzzle brake business and chamber all my rifles and do finish machinist work I am aware of over tightening screws and I was very careful I though. Ross
