Rifle Scopes Night Force

Re: Night Force

50mm unless you are using it for hunting and need another 10 minutes of dusk/dawn. NPR1, the 5 moa hash marks are too far apart for precision wind work required for competitions. $0.02

I have the NP-R2 and I'm in agreement with Quickdraw40; get the NP-R1. As soon as I have the funds, I'll be sending mine to Nightforce and having the reticle swapped out for the NP-R1.

No this is not correct.

Both elevation turrets are in .25 moa/ click
The reticle is the difference. Each verticle hash at 22x stand for 1 MOA on the np-r1

on the np-r2 each verticle hash at 22x stands for 2 moa.

Re: Night Force

Get the NXS 5.5x22x50 with high speed turrets, zero stop, moa turrets and the NPR1 reticle.

The NPR1 Ret. is 1moa per hash mark on the verticle wire and 2moa on the horizontal wire. The .1mil rad. turrets will also work but get the mil reticle to match.

Mil/Mil or Moa/Moa

Re: Night Force

I do long range shooting and I love my R 1 reticle. its all about what you feel comfortable with. I think youll be happy with either once you start doing consistent shots with it.

Re: Night Force

I got the NP-R1 on my scope and love it. Some think its to busy. But I think it is just fine.

In my post the fox I was talking about watchin in the scope because my rangefinder wouldn't range a good distance to give me a dope/hold over. Well I went back this evening and did a little recon work and came up with 831yds. The NP-R1 didn't block the veiw and easily gave me a good sight picture in relation to the reticle and target.

Just my opinion

First, dial the mag on the ranging magnification; 10x for the 2.5-10, 15x for the 3.5-15 or 22x on all the higher mag scopes. Then take the target in inches, multiply it by 100, then divide that product by the number of MOA lines it fits in. Actually, the real equation is: (inches x 95.5) / MOA, but it is easier to just round it up to 100 so you can do it quickly in your head.

Re: Night Force

I'm new to long range too- ive been loving the NPR1, though. Don't be shy with hi-speed turrets- they kick ass! Get some

Thats it? Wow, so, if i have a target that is 18" and it fits in say 6 hash marks, my target is roughly 300 yards.

50mm or 56mm objective? Will be mostly punching paper, May do some hunting with this rifle. I may build another, that is lighter.

Just about to mount this very glass on my 260. Why didn't you tell me this last summer!! Could've spent the $ money I wasted on the Leupy at your shop on another build, lol!!

Re: Night Force

I was afraid the reticle was going to be too busy when I bought mine with the NP-R1 but boy I am glad I did. I have no problems with it being easy to shoot through and the 2moa windage hashmarks are perfect.
