Another question...I guess based on the answers I got to my previous post I would like to hear a comparison between the above mentioned scopes. Some of you will perhaps disagree, but I looked through the glass of a couple NF other the Competition (which sports this HD glass) and the picture didn't seem as bright as the competition (my shooting buddies concurred). I was looking at March scopes but not familiar with their product/quality /glass. I am wondering if it's worth it to wait to save more for the latter scope.

Cat64, if the scope you are hoping to purchase a scope which is to be used primarily on a F-Class rifle perhaps your question would be better answered on the f-class forum. With regards to the newer Competition series with the HD glass yes IMHO the clarity seems to be much better than older NF scopes of which I have 2, a 12-42x56 which presently sits in my FTR rifle and a 2.5-10x24 on an AR. However these scopes get the job done and have served me well. The March scopes have excellent glass which comes with the premium price of course.

To my knowledge, the March scopes are still utilizing just regular low dispersion (LD) glass similar to that used in the NXS. I personally think that the March and NXS produce a superb image. The new Competition uses ED (Extra Low Dipsersion) HD (High Density) glass which provides a much more vivid image. Clarity and Resolution in my opinion are very similar to that of the NXS, but the enhanced fidelity of the ED glass provides a more true to life image with better depth of field and a much brighter pop. I often like to compare the LD glass to a standard definition television and the ED Glass to a high definition television. That is a good way to describe the viewable difference.

I've had my March 3-24X 42mm and lone it. Over 5000 rounds shot with no issues. Non illuminated FML-1 version about $2200. Came out with a 52mm objective for about $500 more this year that Frank did an excellent review on a few weeks ago. He's very knowledgable on all things scope related. Look up his Thread.
