Just trying to get a handle on this.

Wondering why the f1 NXS scope is 800.00 more than the "Standard" NXS scope?

Is it because its there only first focal plane scope? supply and demand???

    Thanks

FFP optics are generally more expensive for pretty much any manufacturer.

For the Nightforce, besides being FFP it also has more internal adjustment and comes with the ZeroStop by defualt rather than an option/add-on like the NXS.

    Where'd you get $800 from?

SFP Nightforce 3-15x50mm with Zerostop and Comparable Reticle = $1798

    FFP Nightforce 3-15xx50mm F1 = $2290 and includes a set of $200 rings.

So the price difference is actually around $300-400 give or take what the rings are worth.

It is much more difficult to build and implement a FFP lens system that can track and is rock solid. Seems a bargain to me.

The rings are great. Ultra light, but stronger than steel.

Price of the F1 is $2290 i believe... at least that what i see on all the SH vendor websites.

    2467.00 to 1883.00 = 584.00

but I didn't notice that the rings only come with the F1 so that eases the hurt factor a little as long as they are good to go.

The F1 is $2290 from just about everywhere. It is $2467 from Optics Planet and I don't know why. The rings are a $163 value so the scope is actually $2127. So basically a $244 difference without counting the rings and $407 including the rings. These can be had for better than advertised, just call any of the Hide sponsors and tell them you are a member here and you will be surprised at the price you will find.

The F1 also appears to have better optics than the NXS line in my opinion.

The F1 is part of the NXS line so your eyes must be playing tricks on you or something...

Indeed it is. I meant second focal plane.
Have you looked though both models? The first focal plane models I have looked through are noticeably clearer. But I have only looked through 3 F1s and 2 2nd focal plane nightforces. The F1's were noticeably clearer. One of the F1's that was an earlier production was not as clear as the other two however.

This is just my observation. I think the F1 line is easily worth the extra price over the 2nd focal plane models.

What do the F1 cost more?

    1. They are FFP
    2. They come with NF UL 1.0" rings $165.00

C132 NXS 3.5-15x50 W/ High speed MIL RAD Zero Stop, MLR RET $1883.00
    C359 NXS - 3.5-15x50mmF1 - Zerostop - .1 Mil-Radian - MLR2.0 (NEW MAP) $2467.00. If you take in account the $165 rings your seeing a difference of $419.00.
