Rifle Scopes Nightforce mounting problem, please help...

Hey fellas, I ordered a NF BR scope with NF uni-mount. The setup was recommended by the guys over at Sport Optics... they were great by the way!

I got everything late today and wanted to get it set up... When I mount eh optic the front of the scope is just touching my rail. This is obviously a huge issue... Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this quick? Will I need a new mount?

What height is the Uni-Mount? 1.125" or 1.375"?

These mount to 1913 Mil-standard rails/bases and have 20MOA built in. Is the rail you're attaching to also sloped? If so that's probably the cause/fix.

If you're putting this on a bolt gun, maybe you can return it and get a NF direct mount? Otherwise you'll need a flat base or spacer rail.

Touch up the rail with a grinder. Even if the base is sloped it shouldn't be an issue.

the base is not slopped... and as far as grinding part of the rail? I really do not even want to think about attempting something like that.

Here is a picture of what I am looking at right now. Since I have only ever used rings maybe I am doing something wrong?
