I have a Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC 3.5-15x50 with Mil-Dot retical. I know this is the scope several of the SEAL teams have on their MK12, and it has the Zero Stop. I am thinking about selling it, but I'm not sure. I have never seen one for sale before. I have seen the ARMY-SPEC for sale before, and they were around 2300.00. I know these are very rare. Here is a link to the ARMY-SPEC model, they are no longer for sale ( http://www.cstactical.com/Rifle-Scopes/N...mm-Mil-Dot.html ). The scope is in great shape, and very clear. It has a small mark on the piece. I do not have the box or paperwork. I wanted to see if anyone out there might know what I should ask for it, if I sell it. I am thinking about buying another Larue rifle.

Here is a link on Snipershide I found about the Nightforce Military-Specific Riflescopes. ( http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3417697&page=4

Here are some pics.

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC

I think Nav-Spec and Army-Spec are built to the same standard, someone please interject if I'm mistaken.

For your info, sportoptics.com still has the Army-Spec scope in mil-dot as well as MLR selling new for $2290.

Your scope without box, manual, or rings should fetch $1800-$1900. If the "small mark" is on the actual glass, it'll fetch a hundred to two hundred less depending on the size of the mark.

Re: Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC

If it has a mil dot reticle it is not rare, if it is a .25 MOA Turret it is a Mk 11 scope, if it is a 1 MOA Turret it is a Mk13 scope. The Mk12 uses the 2.5-10x.

They are the same price as the regular F1, the question is, is this an F1, is the scope a FFP version as there were a lot of SFP scopes.

Basically it is a NAV SPEC cause Crane puts NF on all the scopes, at least they did, I believe they added the S&B to the line up.

Price is the same, retail is $2250... you want special, you want to get a hold of the ones with the other reticles in them. Used with no paperwork and box, I agree, about $1800.

NF has been selling to Crane for years, they are not as rare as you think.

Re: Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC

NAV-SPEC is the Same as ARMY SPEC in construction(per the pamphlet).....now they are just known as MIL-SPEC.

That is a Mk11 Scope as Lowlight said with .25MOA ZS adjustments. It is a second focal plane; not an F1. Is the reticle a true Mil Dot? Meaning nothing else around the reticle?
They are not rare by any means within the Military. There have been thousands sold and in use. They are rare in fact to be on the commercial market.

Re: Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC

The SFP's were utilized in prior years. Now the focus is on MIL-SPEC 3.5-15x50 F1's with H58 reticles and .1mr ZeroStops. Although, the 2.5-10x32 compacts also see a fair amount of use by certain units.

Re: Nightforce NXS NAV-SPEC

Yeah our unit shot all MOA/MOA adj with mil ret. But I must say they we so good that now all I own for LR rifles is NF. Good stuff. Id be more then happy to do some T&E for you guys
