So, I've narrowed down my next scope to a Nightforce. I know I want the MLR2 reticle with mil turrets w/ high speed and zero stop. Only question now is what model. I'm looking at the 3.5-15X50, the 5.5-22X50, and the 3.5-15 F1. I want to use this scope on both my 18" Centurion Arms SPR upper as well as my .308 Rem 700. What do you guys think would be the best choice for me? Is the FFP really that much more useful? I shoot between 100-600 yards. Possibly out to 1000 within the next year or two once I move. Would the extra magnification be useful? I have a 4-14X scope now and at 600 I'm already wanting a bit more magnification. However, I think the FFP would be a useful feature to have when shooting at dynamic distances. As always your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like you've already thought it through. Get the F1.

I have found that for me learning to adjust the scope has done more for me than the extra magnification. I agree get the F1

If you are going to engage multiple targets at multiple distances without coming off the gun then the FFP is a must IMO. If you are going to dial between shots then it doesn't matter.

I had the 22x, sold it, and got the F1. I couldn't be happier.

I don't think any good can come from touching the knob on the right side of the scope, mirage could can be really bad at 22X for wind holds. Especially at competitions where the stages are timed.

15X is plenty at 1000 yards.

Thanks for all the input guys! Looks like F1 it is!!!! I'm pretty excited! This will be my first "high class" scope so I'm pretty pumped to see what all the hype is about. Gonna have to wait a couple weeks tho as I just ordered a LW 16" BCM Upper with 12" DD LITE rail, a BCM BCG, BCM gasbuster charging handle, and a bunch of mags. It's nice finally having a real job that can support my expensive hobbies hahaha. Thanks again for all the help. I love coming to SH and ARFCOM to get great advice. From experience I've seen the SH guys know their stuff about optics so I'm glad I asked here.

I guess the final question is where to order from? Eurooptic? Optics Planet? ???
