I am looking to buy a Nightforce shv I and I am only going to be shooting out to 600 yards do Is it a must have for first focal plane or is second focal plane just fine?

I'm gonna say no, but someone else might say different.

There is no reason to not buy a FFP since its offered in that scope. I have one and really like it. And inside 600 yards you might be dialing down, so go FFP.

You could make it work with SFP, but If I was you I would just get FFP and never regret or wonder if you should have gotten that feature or wished you had it when you didn’t. And if you don’t want to pay the extra for an shv FFP then there are plenty of great quality optics in FFP that you could turn to as well for the same or a little less

It seems like everyone that settles for sfp and/or moa eventually ends up going with ffp/mil. Why not get it from the start?
