Rifle Scopes Nightforce turrets question

So I just bought and zero'd in my NXS 3.5-15 f1 np-rf1 with moa turrets, and I'm very happy with the quality of the scope until I started to dial the elevation in for long range. I noticed that it takes five clicks to get to 1 moa on the elevation, 10 for two etc. I first noticed this when I went to dial 4.5 moa, I counted it out and when I looked at the turret the marking was right in the middle between 3.5 and 3.75. Then I noticed the turret only lines up with each number every five clicks. the windage is dead on at 4 clicks per moa marking. Basically since I am new to the bolt action rifles and scopes I was a bit confused. Is this normal?, Is this is something I can fix or do I need to send this thing back for some adjustments?

Thanks for the help.

i can't believe it takes 5 clicks for a min. i don't know how many NF's i've had, seen, and messed with and never seen or heard of this. did you line the turret cap up right when you put it back on after zeroing it?

5 clicks till the dial says 1 moa. The turret is perfectly lined up at zero, 1, 2, 3, ...19 and zero again after one full rev. but is not in line at 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 etc. I didn't think to check if it was shooting 1 moa with four clicks or five because when I noticed it I didnt want to waste ammo shooing. ill try to get some pics posted.

So here are the pictures, starting at zero, then 1 click, then 2, 3, 4, and the fith which reads 1 moa will be on the next post

Thats five clicks to read 1 moa on the elevation turret, and its the same whether you start at zero or 5, 6 etc. 100 clicks per revolution/20 moa. it is five clicks between each moa marking on the turret. Windage works fine though with four clicks per moa and everything is lined up fine

I had a similar problem with my NF scope. When setting the zero stop be sure the turret is locked into the click firmly that it will not rock back and forth. On mine it was not I subsequently removed the cap and disengaged the zero stop. I then reset everything and double checked my 0 line was lined up with the hash on the scope body and my problem went away. Hope this helps. You can also call NF and I am sure they can help.

Turret is labeled a 20 moa turret and im getting 100 clicks to turn it all the way around.

You should obviously be getting only 80 clicks per rev with the MOA high-speed turrets. 100 clicks/rev sounds like a mil (MRAD) setup. Is this a brand-new scope? Do you have a means of verifying the amount of scope elevation change per revolution (boresighter, 100-yard target with a grid or spaced dots, etc.)?

I pretty much assume people are intelligent and know their equipment...maybe I shouldn't do that here all the time. So if you say everything is aligned and set properly I believe 'Bryant' might have the cause. Any NF I've used never had such a problem, something just might have been swapped in the factory. I'd have that scope boxed and ready for the UPS man as you call NF. Hope it works out easy for you.

Not sure how that's helpful. The OP had an issue he knew wasn't right and was looking for ideas about why, that's what the hide is for.

Dropethehammer: Welcome to the hide. EBryant has it right (I think). I have an F1 also (in mils) and the 100 clicks per rev is too coincidental to be an accident. I'm sure NF will take care of the mix-up, just give them a shout. Nice pictures of the 1/5th moa clicks BTW.:D

After my post about 50 clicks if it were a Mil turret I remembered that their High speed turrets have 100 clicks. I think you may have Mil turrets like a lot of the others on this thread think.

Thanks for all the help guys. I would have called them first but it was after hours and I worked all day today. Also I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. NF has actually contacted me and they agree that it is a slip up with QC with a mil turret on an moa scope, ( I didn't even have to call). But I'm off tomorrow so I will get it taken care of then. Great customer service, it's nice that they take the time to be on the forums to help the customers out.

Probably because first he states that he just purchased the scope, second he states he is new to bolt action rifles and scopes.

Yea, and you implied that he lacks intelligence because he's new. That's you being a dick to a new member. Go and read rule #1 here. I was calling you out on it. If you want to take this to a mod, go ahead, but I think you owe the OP an apology. His question was reasonable and in no way indicated a lack of intelligence or familiarity with his equipment. In fact he was aware and detailed enough to make some good observations that helped solve the problem.

"implied that he lacks intelligence" Evidently you cannot comprehend a paragraph. Calling me out? Are you in high school or just a Charlie 4.
