I’ve been looking at these scopes for a 6.5 creedmoor. Really new to target shooting instead of hunting scopes. Both of these are in my budget but mixed reviews on both are out there..would be looking at mrad in the 6-24 power range..thoughts/opinions/experiences between these two options?

I’ve heard a lot of reviews say the glass on the 4 is subpar. I’ve been looking at the 6 and can find good prices but just a little over what I would like to pay!!

I just picked up a Nikon FX1000 4-14 off the prize table at a local match. I'll be mounting it on my .22 trainer. Will post back with what I think of it.

I have owned three tango 4's now. I thought the glass was good for the money. There was a small amount of a tube affect (Tunneling). I liked the locking turrets, but the feel of them leaves a lot to be desired. Tango 6's turrets are light years better like state above. The zero stop wasn't my favorite either.

I own the FX1000 6x24 and it sit on my 6mm Creedmoor. Zero stop is very well done and tracking is solid with no issues. Box and tall target both did as good as other contenders with higher pricing. ( Tracking it went neck and neck with my Night force)
Glass is also lives up to Nikoms rep and will not disappoint for the price. All in all it is a feature packed scope that performs above it's pricepoint and the reticle is simple but useful. It gets a little thick above 18x but still useable. Turrets are good but not great. It is and has proven capable to 1000. Might try it on my 6.5 RPR and see how far it allows me to go.

Agree with the above post. Running mine on a 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun. Vertical tracking is true, and repeatable. I’ve said it here before, the reticle is usable, but could be and should be thinner in the center. I’ve put about 20 PRS stages on it and it is great for matches, just a little thick for fine zeroing. Have run mine out to 835 yards. I got mine when Nikon was running a sale, and included the mount with it. Price was too good to pass up.

I had an FX-1000 4-16x that was returned due to turret issues. Very nice glass though and the zero stop is a better design. I had a Tango 4 3-12x that gave me problems and had to be sent in for warranty work twice. That said, Sig has been awesome too deal with and is making it right in a big way.

Personally, they are close enough that I'd choose one or the other based upon which reticle appealed to me more. The DEV-L MRAD would make me lean toward the Tango 4. If I were wanting a simple Miling reticle I would go with the FX1000.

I bought 2 Nikon BLACK FX1000 4-16x50 MOA scopes. This past weekend was my first chance to air one out to 700 yards and I went 5 for 5 on a beautiful windless OK afternoon. The Bergara 6.5 CM shoots like a dream. The other rifle is a Hill AR in 6.5 and we had no trouble pounding 8-inch plates at 500 yards with it. Big fun and glad to finally get out and shoot past 100 yards. I'm using Nikon's BLACK Series mount too.

I am not a dealer. I have been doing freelance work with Nikon for almost 10 years now. No sales, I just help guys out who have question's or need product assistance. I know on 1800gunsandammo right now if you enter, friends10 you can get 10% off your order, I have also heard that calling some vendor's will get you a discount as well. I try to pass on discounts as I hear about them and of course Nikon's Promo's as well. Good luck and feel free to drop me a note any time. I have been shooting the BLACK FX1000 scopes for a few months now and couldn't be happier with the results I am getting.

Outstanding! I hope you'll post some pics and a range report when you get it all dialed in? I have been using Nikon's BLACK Series mounts and really appreciate how solid the lockup is on my scopes. Great price too!
