Rifle Scopes Nikon Scopes: True MOA or IPHY???

Re: Nikon Scopes: True MOA or IPHY???

I would bet IPHY since the main folks purchasing those scopes are probably hunters that are not avid shooters. It is easier for the average hunter to figure IPHY. There website is not very clear about it so I could be wrong.

It doesn't matter if it's *supposed* to be IPHY or MOA, since it could be a little off anyway. If you're converting known data, you'll have to measure the true adjustment of your existing scope.

Look up the member Lindy here, he has a tutorial on how to do this. Basically, tape off a true 100 yard distance, put a yard stick out there, clamp your scope to something and dial in lots of elevation and see how far it goes.

Shooter, They are IPHY, you can go to Nikon's ballistic web site, Spot On and see what the difference would be converting one to the other. Go to Nikonhunting.com, click the Spot On logo and then enter a scope, pick a mildot if you want, then go to generate ballistic reports and it'll give you all the data you need. The site was down for a bit this mornign for updates but should be back up soon.
