I've been debating on which optic to support my semi-custom R700 30-06. What I'm really looking for is an accurate hold-over reticle system to support cross canyon shots up to 500yds. I've been looking into the Nikon Buckmaster 6x18 with the BDC reticle. I noticed with the "Spot On" software program to support the reticle system it is meant for full magnification when taking shots. I like the extra magnification just to sight in precisely. Typically I will keep my magnification on 6 to cover most shots and provide a clear field of view. The thing with that is, if I keep it on 6, the hold over's are just crazy. The fourth dot down is for like 947yds. Anyone have any useful information or another scope/reticle option?
