Here are a couple pictures from my recent Nilgai hunt on King Range. Fun hunt and great eating. Just wish it had been a big bull. Hit her at 30 yards in the left shoulder. She ran about 40 yards before dropping. Missed a bull at 35 yards about 10 min after getting her. Bull jumped out of water just as I shot. Went right underneath him. Certainly would recommend the hunt.

Re: Nilgai hunt

How did you get close enough with a bow to shoot. When I went on my hunt they were wild as hell.

They arer by far the best wild game I've ever had. I hope you had Hibbler's process them. The bacon wrapped backstrap grilled medium rare is awesome!

Re: Nilgai hunt

Just an FYI: the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge has a draw hunt for Nilgai, since they are an intrusive species on their grounds. Strictly archer, strictly dismounted hunting. You CAN use a bicycle, last I heard. I think the permit was 15 dollars last time I checked. Good luck.
