You are in a pretty good spot being in Fargo. Rush lake is a sub hour drive for you and there are some really good people in that area to help guide you. Bring that 243 with ya to play around with too.

Best thing to do is make one of those matches and talk to everyone you can. Most people if not all would let you check out there stuff to see what you like. If you come out to Bismarck, swing into the shop!

I went to a match in Rush Lake when I first arrived. Just to check it out. Last match of the year I think. It’s 1h45 from Fargo apparently. Not too bad but a commitment for sure.

not sure if I’ll stay in Fargo but if I do I might get into the gun business. I’ve done a ton of agency and advertising in the sport for 24 years but always for other brands. I gave them all my ideas for product development and made them millions. Now I want to build my own stuff. Maybe find an existing business. I tried to buy MG Arms in Texas but they sold to an employee.

I just moved to Fargo as well. Can we shoot out of our truck box here? That’s pretty epic. Same for Prairoe dogs and such?

You're not going to find a prairie dog within a few hundred miles of Fargo. Also, not sure of the legality around shooting down some random dirt road, but the local land owners may not be too impressed. Your best bet is to find some public land to shoot on. Not much of that near Fargo either.

I drove from Anola, Manitoba to Pierre several summers in the 90's to go to the Varmint Hunter's Jamboree, so at least I cut the distance now.

Agreed. Not something I would do anyway. I'm used to having a ton of places to shoot in Manitoba, and massive amounts of public land, so not as good here but I will figure it out. Being able to shoot from a vehicle for varmints like prairie dogs on private land is cool if allowed. It's not in Canada but is in Texas. Most of the time I've shot prairie dogs we're setting up benches and only shooting dogs past 400 yards though anyway.

Your best bet is to find some public land to shoot on. Not much of that near Fargo either.

Sucks if that's the case. I looked up Rush Lake and it's 1h45 minute drive plus $50 day fee, so not really worth it (for me) in time, fuel and $$$ just to go shoot for a couple of hours. For a match maybe....
