LOL, "solved the unreliable AK magazine issue" too funny! It's also funny how that article mentions a benefit of the helical magazine as being the " notable increases in size and unwieldiness" that it eliminates vs. the old 30 round banana mags. They guess the weight of that helical to be almost 5 lbs. Don't think that'll help handling or wielding characteristics.

A friend has an old Calico 9mm PCC with a 50 and a 100 round magazine - you have to crank up the spring tension every 20 or so rounds when shooting.
