North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

Right Cobra!!! If you look at $100 bucks each for 5 guys. You don't have to provide anything but your rifle and ammo. CKA will be providing: steel targets set up and taken down, paper targets, spotting scopes, training, a range to reach 1000 yards and the expertise to get you hitting steel at 1000 yds. If that's not worth $100 per person for a day, you need to sell your rifle, scope, reloading equipment, and go back to your water color art class. I will bring my factory built Remington 700 in.308 and do my best to beat someone with the $4000 rifle. Some people just don't get it. It's about trying to learn from other people. Find another place close to DFW to shoot 1000 yards with all those things for $100

Stacy you said it well. I look forward to shooting with you, since the other times you have been running ragged and haven't been able to pull the trigger, lol.

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

I have my Block Leave dates now. Looks like 10-2 isn't one of them. BUT... I have a good OIC who might play ball, seeing as how it involves shooting. I won't take one of the 5 slots, but if I get free, I will be glad to assist in any way necessary. I want to drive the "Purple People Eater". beck.jamie, PM on the way.

PS: If $100 is too steep for a day with Jay, why would I spend 4 days of Leave, fly to DFW from El Paso, and then get from Burleson to the range? I could stay on Fort Bliss and shoot with a Basic Rifle Instructor. Nah, I'll go with a known quality.

That should make up someones mind right there. Anyone willing to take 4 days off work, hotel, possible rental car, etc just to shoot one day with Jay. Awesome!

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

That sounds more like a man-crush. Hahaha!!! He needs the NTRP tattoo!!! All good man, it's great training and I'm glad CKA is getting booked up. Just in time for his arm to heal and get ready for RO match.

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

We trained hard last weekend and had a great time. I love working with soldiers. SPC Harris' family showed up to watch the shot. Talk about pressure, lol.

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

Not to disagree, but the tannerite is not suppose to be flamable. Ive never seen it have any fire to it. Maybe the guys with the fire were using some gas or other flammable with the tannerite? Tannerite alone if used as the package describes should never have any flame. However stanger things have happened and thanks for the warning...

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

Yeah, that is what they thought.....

I've never read the package and don't know what amounts were used, but I'm told no other flammables were used.

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

Guess my cardboard box with the tannerite got wet. I went to get it out and see how much was in there and the shit is no good. It was sealed up in the plastic cannister but its all solid as a rock now. I guess Ill throw it away. Sorry guys.

Is it worth trying to salvage by drying it out?

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

I dont know. The white pellets are now a solid blocks of powder. I opened one canister and you can break it up into powder to try and mix with the 2nd part but I think Id best trash it.

Re: North Texas Rifle Precision (Course Review)

If you guys end up with an open slot this weekend I'd jump in it in a heartbeat.

Ended up being home and I'd like to learn some things......
