Anyone tried the Nosler Match 6.5 Creedmoor 140gr RDF's? I'm wondering how tight their factory tolerances are. I shoot the Trophy Grade Noslers out of my 22-250, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how low my extreme spread is with these. Blew the Black Hills outta the water on the 22-250's. Anyways, I digress.... I can't find much on the RDF's, but they look a lot like the Berger Tactical Hybrids I have shot before and I am a fan of the BC's and performance in general on those. I'm not looking to reload, so seating isn't an issue on the bullet for me. Any info on the Factory loads, or even on the bullet itself if you reloaded them would be great, Thanks.

A friend shoots the 140 RDF in handloads out of his RPR, that’s his go-to bullet now. He has shot groups in the .4s and better with it when we go out, and out to 1100y or so on steel.

I wouldn’t hesitate to try them if I had a 6.5, may give the 175gr under 4064 a go one of these days.

I just purchased the Nosler Factory Match stuff to try, so gives me some hope I didn't completely waste my money! Just hoping they are loaded as tight, or tighter than the Trophy Grade ammo.

I've never tried their loaded ammo, but I wasn't exactly impressed with the RDFs in either my DTA SRS or my 6 Dasher. With my DTA 6.5 Creedmoor barrel, I always experienced some unexplained fliers. I tried playing with seating depths, and the group would tighten up, but I'd always have one round that didn't cooperate. Four shots in one tight little group, one shot a quarter inch away. I haven't tried playing with seating depths on the Dasher, so there still might be hope. I've found your rifle will either love them or hate them. There I'd no in between.

I have talked to a friend of mine that shoots 6.5, and he said the same thing about different rounds he tried. His gun either loved, or hated them. Interesting that you say the same thing. The round seems legit, but that doesn't mean jack if my particular gun doesn't like them. I was told to try the Hornady's, but I'm a little hesitant to do that. Not a huge Hornady fan, but I guess if they work I'm open to it. Gonna be some serious trial and error to figure this out.

I would definitely try Hornady, I don’t shoot factory ammo at all but I will say I remember my buddy bitching about how good Hornady 6.5 Creed shot and how hard he had to work at reloading to beat it.

I haven't shot factory ammo in a few years, but the last I tried were Prime, which I would recommend, and Hornady 140 AMAX, so I could build a stash of brass. Both gave me very good results. I wouldn't hesitate to try either of them, if I were you. I'd also take a look at the American Gunner line. I admit I've never tried it, but the projectile is the Hornady 140 BTHP, which I've loaded extensively. No, the BC isn't as sexy as the RDF or ELD, but it performed consistently well in my loads. I've probably gone through a few thousand of them and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I had the same problem with the140 gr RDF in two different rifles chambered in 6.5 CM. Three or four shots, one rag hole then a flyer. Sold the whole batch and went back to Hornady ELD-M or BTHP.

Anyone ever quantified the issue with RDF? I have been told that they have inconsistent weight and length, But it would be cool if someone was able to figure out if the length is the issue or if the weight is the issue. Heck maybe it is the diameter.

I shot the 140 RDF yesterday to 1k and it performed pretty much exactly the same as the 139gr Scenar I was comparing it to. The RDF required a little less elevation but there were no fliers or bullet related issues.

I've shot almost 3k of the 140's through a Bartlein chambered in .260 and had great results. My load is with IMR7828SC running 2825 and shoots .3-.4 consistently. That being said I tried some blems from Shooters Pro Shop and they sucked, they were all over the place. Went back to the regular ones and accuracy came right back.

I shoot them in a 6mm Lapua. I measured every which way to Sunday about 300 of the 1000 I have on hand, this lot is just as tight as any bergers I’ve measured. I’ll be switching over my 6.5 Creed when my stock of hybrids are gone.

Are you shooting over wind flags?

I just bought a lot of the 140s from another member.. I have no clue how they are gonna shoot but I'm kinda up for the challenge if figuring out a flyer problem if I experience the same.
It's a very very pretty bullet for damn sure. Built for speed!

Ive shot about three boxes of them so far and I like them. They group really well, under an inch out of two different rifles and I have taken them out to 600 with no issues at all. They are my favorite factory ammo so far consistency wise.

I've shot a good amount of 105rdf and they are much more consistent than 105 hybrids in random length/weight check. They both shot equally as well for me.
