Rifle Scopes Not enough space for buttler creek scope cap?

Re: Not enough space for buttler creek scope cap?

I have bcs on my muzzleloader and didn't have full clearance between the objective and the rear sight. I ended up sanding the bottom of the cap (bout halfway thru) so that it would fit. Not sure if you have the space to try that or not.

Use a razor blade and cut out a small section of the cap where it would touch. 1/4 should do it. Have done this on a couple rifles and the caps still work like normal.

This is exactly what I did on my 5-20 that i put on my 5R with Seekins low rings. Its awesomely low and the caps still work with no issues.

Cut the bottom portion of it that touches the barrel, and use some double sided tape to keep it on. Problem solved.

I use a Nightforce 50mm bikini cover on mine. Use some paracord to secure it to the scope when not covering the lenses.
