No real questions, just wanted to share, I suppose. It may don't fit in too well around here but y'all let Savage shooters hangout so ???
Browning BBR in .270 Win that my dad bought new. These were produced between 1978 and (I think) 1985 in Japan by Miroku for Browning. It's got some neat features for the time: an aluminum bedding block in the high gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock, checkering, 24" free-floating barrel, 9 lug action, fluted bolt, detachable magazine that swings on a hinge on the bottom plate(?) and an adjustable trigger.
It's a very pretty rifle, in my opinion, and has that classic bolt gun look. It's hard to beat that old-school high gloss wood and deep bluing. Dad has taken great care of it these past few decades.
This is the centerfire rifle I grew up shooting, once I got the hang of the air rifles, pre-teen through early teen years. Don't have too many good memories of that time but I did enjoy going out to the range with dad and putting rounds down range, chasing ever smaller groups.
It was a shooter too, to my recollection printing 2/3" to 3/4" groups with our handloads. Learned the basics of reloading on the old girl, too.
Anyway, like I said, just wanted to share and thought someone might enjoy it.
