I always liked the KAC level, but thought it would be better with tritium. I'm still working on this one, but it looks like all the hard work is out of the way. Remaining steps are just to contour the back, and decide if I want to do a recessed nut or brass insert for the cleat.
This was a really fun project to help me get better with CAD, and my first rail mounted project. I went with the NATO standard of 3 contact points, and used a little bit geometry to get some extra clamping power on the cleat. The recoil lugs make it essentially an interference fit on the rail too.
Once the contours are all done, I'll print it out in a carbon fiber/polycarbonate blend.
