Im trying to add some material to the for-end of my stock so it wont slide around on baracade shooting positions.

Right here....

But nothing will stick...3M headliner adhesive, double sided tape. Ive tried cleaning it first, but no luck! Ide like it to be not super permanent, as in, I could remove it without defacing such a nice stock.

Any ideas?

Try 3M exterior double sided tape. I put a non adhesive backed velcro patch on my A5 for a 7 round ammo card and its on there good. All I did was clean the area with rubbing alcohol.

Barge brand leather cement works great. It the old style leather and shoe glue used by leather workers. You apply it to both sides of the object, let it dry till tacky, then stick the parts together.

I have had the same problem you do, and the barge cement comes off with a little rubbing with your thumb. You don't have to rough up the surface with sandpaper, but do have to clean it off with alcohol or something like that first.

Get the old style barge cement as the new stuff they put out without toluene (what the glue sniffers like) doesn't stick worth a damn. Don't believe 'em if they tell you the new stuff is just as good. DAP Weldwood contact cement is about 99% as good as the Barge cement, and usually available at places like Tru-Value hardware store. You apply it the same way, and it stinks the same, so I think the formula is similar.

I use these glues to apply range cards, cheek pieces, and damn near anything else. I have used it successfully on a McMillan fiberglass stock, Sako TRG stock, the metal receivers of AR15, LR308, aluminum forends and so on.

I wouldn't suggest using it on wood as it sticks so good, I don't know if it would come off without damaging the finish.
