NOVESKE RIFLES

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Do a Google image search for noveske n4 or noveske reece. It will show you all the pics you want to see and take you to sites that will provide the additional information you're looking for. In short, they build excellent rifles but cost more than others that are just as reliable. Their selection of ar barrels are second to none in my opinion. It is what seperates them from other manufacturers. Whether or not that is worth the extra loot... Is up to the purchaser.

Imho, if you get a good deal on one, go after it. DD, BCM, LMT, and Colt are nothing to be ashamed of though.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Thanks guys I am looking at either J P LRP07 or Larue OBR and might even think about a LES BAER MATCH. I have always been interested in NOVESKE N6 rifles, but not sure when I compare prices. Also was really looking at LWRC repr but again not sure with the price. There sure is not much out there on NOVESKE.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Noveske makes a great rifle, but so many others do too. After a year of wanting, I purchased a used Noveske here, in the classifieds, and couldn't be happier. That being said, IMO, the GAP10 is going to be the best bang for the buck.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

I love my 18" N6, if your not set on getting a factory assembled gun you can always buy the upper complete and throw the lower together yourself. Mine came out to be less than $2500 minus the glass but still comes in $500 short of a factory complete N6 or OBR.

That's the truth!!! Just don't fall into the debt trap.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Have owned three Noveske's over the years, all of them 5.56mm. Still own 2 of them. Love/loved them all. I have a 14.5" chrome Afghan with a gazzillion rounds thru it and it still shots as good as the day I got it. No experience with their N6, but their N4's are really top notch.

I also own a Noveske N4 Afghan model. It is the most accurate AR I own. Costs more than others but well worth the additional cost. Never a single failure of any kind in the years I have owned it. I have an LMT, Ruger 556, a Colt 6600, 6920 and 6924 and a S&W 1500 Tactical and it far out shine all of them.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

I have a N4 Light Low-Profile with CL barrel. It's not as accurate as my LWRC M6A2. Shooting my match 69gr SMK's and sandbags, I get about 1.5 MOA with the Noveske, and about .75 with the LWRC. Since neither are sandbag guns, and rarely see match ammo... 1.5 MOA is more than good enough.

I much prefer DI over piston any day, so that is why I am a big Noveske fan. I have had my Noveske for about 3 years now, and as long as I keep the gun liberally lube with Mobil-1 it has no issues. Only time I really have problems is when I shoot Brass after shooting Wolf, she does not like it when I do that and rounds do not properly feed. However, As long as I keep on shooting Wolf or keep shooting brass.. no issues even after 500+ rounds. Also a good chamber scrub fixes the issue if you do decide you want to switch ammo.

I think Noveske's are fairly priced for what the gun comes with. However, it does nothing special, and you can probably put together basically the same gun for about $900 less. I though myself, would rather have the Noveske brand on the side of my gun, because just like my gf, I like pretty purses with pretty logo. I plan to get a complete Noveske SBR for my next AR.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Reading this thread just gets me pumped. I just started the DROS on my Noveske SPR for some of you that dont know what the heck is a DROS, it a 10 day hold period by your local FFL so the DOJ can check if your good to go or no go. Yeah its a California thing. But other than that I real glad from owner feedback on how happy they are with their noveske. Can any of you folks guesstimate the expected round cound the barrels before getting shot-out?

Yes, T1 on and angled mount. Keep the same cheek weld and just rotate rifle about 20 degrees (with both eyes open) and you know have a very easy to use red dot.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

I have a few Noveskes. First off is my daily driver, a 12.5" Crusader sitting on an LMT lower:

12.5er.jpg

I have roughly 1500 rounds through it, almost exclusively Wolf steel cased and it runs like a top. I also have a 16" Noveske Lo-Pro that sees just a small amount of range time. It is currently sporting an ACOG. I just gave my dad a 14.5" Afghan barreled upper. He loves it and is coming up to shoot this weekend.

My latest Noveske is a complete N6. I've only had the chance to shoot it to 100 yards, but my first group was sub MOA. It is wearing a Trijicon Accupoint, Magpul PRS stock, and Geissele SSA-E. I'll take some pics and do a range report on it this weekend when I stretch it out to 1000 yards.

I also have a Noveske 18" SPR with switchblock sitting in my safe though it's my buddy's. We've taken it out to 750 yards with match ammo and had good success though the force wasn't enough to actually knock down the LaRue targets. After he got it initially I had tons of rifle envy and contemplated getting the same one for a long time. I found my 12.5" upper with switchblock for an absolute steal though and went the SBR route instead, opting to do .308 and 6.5 Grendel for longer range instead.

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

Sorry i dont own a camera...
but i do own a noveske 14.5 inch N4. and i love it never been much of a target shooter so i couldnt give you MOA or anything but i hit what im aiming at most of the time and if i dont its sure as heck isnt the rifles fault. I havent had any sort of probelems with it yet. i did change the stock to a magpul because the VLTOR didnt stand up to some ridiculous test that simulated a situation i will probably never be in (dropping 8 ft or something directly onto the stock while extended). I dont think you can go wrong with a noveske but as other have stated is it that much more reliable than others for less? Im not sure but i do know mine runs great!

Assume you are talking about a SS barrel. I would say many many thousands of rounds. I have about 1000 through my Noveske SS 20" barrel and its in its prime. My chrome 14.5" has 10,000+ and is as accurate as the day it arrived. I clean it every thousand rounds or so

Re: NOVESKE RIFLES

I have a 12.5 SS Rogue Hunter and I shot a 5-shot cloverleaf easily, it is my favorite upper now.

A question for those with experience from both Noveske SS and CL barrels: is there any significant accuracy differences?

Maybe. My SS barrel is 20" and medium profile. I think the heavier profile results in (1) better accuracy and (2) better heat management. I say this because my 14.5" Afghan starts to open up after 20 rounds or so (when fired in fairly quick secession). The medium profile doesn't seem to open up at all, at least thru the # of rounds I have put thru it quickly (maybe 30 rounds or so).

The 18" SS barrel I used to own wasn't a medium profile and it was about the same as the 14.5" in terms of accuracy. Both shoot/shot a hair under 1moa at 100 with reloads and a cool barrel, whereas the 20" medium will shoot under .75moa.

Thanks James, yes I'm talking about the SS barrels since I ran across a 3 gunners review that he had over 16k rounds and only lost 1/2 and moa which is really comforting to know and also helped me fork out the $ to purchase one. I chose the 18 inch SPR and it doesn't say what profile it is but it's more like a taper contour. I know for a fact it's not a beefy as the 20 inch but I think as heat dissipation wise I'll be okay as long as I take my time with my shots and leave the mag dumping action with my CL carbines.
