It will be a while before my next firearm but that doesn't mean I cant plan ahead. I will be building an AR someday and would like to Np3 the upper receiver. I was wondering if I could have the outside blasted and cote it in cerakote after. I'm wondering if ether one would start to chip or peel at the border between the two. Any ideas?

You can have just the upper receiver internals NP3'd. I briefly saw an example at the SHOT show last Feb. Call Robar.

How is the lubricity of cerakote? If its slick enough I'd assume that having the internals done in Np3 and the receiver done in cerakote that I'd be able to get away with minimal lube on a piston setup.

Can't help with ceracoat but np3 is great stuff. I am going to send my bcg to robar when I get a chance. I have had 2 pistols finished with np3.
