So, i got the call that my Halo LR should arrive in the next week or so. I am going to mount it on a Q Fix and/or a small frame AR about 95% of the time. When looking at the LR, the big flat spot on top looks like the logical place to velcro an external power supply on it. So, has anyone set theirs up for something like an Anker power supply and where did you mount it? Anything i should be aware of when determining what power supply to get for the Halo LR? This is my first thermal scope, so any advice is appreciated.

Yes, on the top. I'd get something with 2A output. I use the 3M hard velcro on a 308 and its enough to knock it off. I'd recommend a couple thick rubber bands to hold the power bank down as well.

Here is the link Anker i run and pouch ? i will post link under where i got, i put some velcro on top of the HALO LR and thank thread valor to pouch so it stuck and won't come off the pouch. Slap battery and pouch on top of it no need for any other support. You can see my cable i wrapped around the unit thru Pouch opening, very stable won't move and it won't come off. You can take battery out recharge it and put it back on top of the unit. No need to take pouch off the unit, take battery out charge it and slide it back in. Works awesome and keeps everything together. This power pack will run HALO-LR 12+ hrs straight without powering unit off.

I havent found any 2V output power supplies. Do you mean 2A? Would someone post the size of the flat spot on top of the Halo LR?
With Halo LR it dose not matter if is 2V output power supplies. Usb cable that comes with HALO LR will regulate power. It will take only as much power as it needs, you cannot overpower unit. Call manufacturer (n-Vision) and ask if you don’t believe me.

Thanks for the pics. The flat spot i was talking about is where you have your power supply and pouch mounted. Just trying to size the power supply to match it without hanging over.

I assumed the output of the power supply wasnt critical. Was just looking into generalzip's comment about a 2V output and didnt see anything that matched that.

To be a little bit more precise, almost any USB (5V standard) power supply that is rated for 1A or higher output should work and with some margin because in reality we never draw more than 1A. This being said, the rating of power supplies is not always being perfectly honest and some lower-rated (1A) supplies can't produce the promised current. Going with 2A rated supply will almost certainly give enough margin for any discrepancy between advertised and actual current (power) delivery capability. If you have 1A rated USB power brick lying around, it's fine to try it. It may just work. But if you plan to buy one, I suggest getting one that has a 2A rating. I hope this helps.

I use an Anker 6700 candy bar, runs all night. I used a neoprene elbow support on but stock to hold both battery & mdvr securely, did I mention cheap solution.
