Gone through close to a dozen since 1999. Have a 24" & 20" T and another 10A4. The latest 10A4 {that's chrome-lined for those in Rio Linda) has been doing 3/8" and less 5 shot groups at 100yds, same conditions.

Why would Mark Larue spend time and effort to deceive any and/or all? Just da-da-damn.

BobbyFairBanks really, the only platform in AR-10 that you would get is a Larue. You really don"t know your guns. What about JP, GAP-10, LMT, and of course LWRC, I think you missed the BEST.

I've got an OBR and love it, it's been accurate, reliable, and is my favorite long-gun to shoot. My test target was about 0.89", not exceptional but nothing to sneeze at either. My best with it has been 0.44" ... the factory test isn't the best they'll do, it's just a proof that the rifle is within their factory tolerances.

Larue makes good kit, but there's plenty of other great options out there in the same price range. I wouldn't shy away from the other options in that class, and will probably add one or more my collection at some point. The ORB certainly isn't the only "gold standard" of precision semi-auto's at this point.

Actually, that's not the case. They are simply shot off the bench. Only reason I know that is because I asked before I ordered mine.

Funny (not really) story about test targets here. I bought an un-named factory "Sniper" rifle a while back. One of those with a great reputation on here (at the time anyway). It had a test target that was really small and right in the center. The rifle would not get on paper with three different scopes. Turned out the scope mount holes were not drilled correctly so the mount wasn't on straight down the center of the receiver. It was never going to shoot to POI. Name brand company took the rifle back for repair but called to advise they would be sending a new one to replace it. No rant there.....they really took care of the issue well. Just for grins, I asked the CS guy how a rifle that had that kind of problem shot such a nice test target. The answer was astounding! He told me they had caught some "test target" shooters stacking targets, shooting one good rifle and sticking those targets in with unfired rifles.

Don"t get me wrong I love Larue, I was going to get an OBR but went with JP. I think LT makes a very fine rifle, and pretty damn accurate too.

Ive got a OBR with an 18 inch barrel,test target was 0.77".I reload 175Smks with Varget for my Larue an it shoots lights out.By far the most accurate gas gun I have ever shot!I have shot 1/4 MOA groups with it and it lays down 1/2 minute all day long.I love mine!

I recently received my 18 inch OBR with PRS stock. After, i had the scope issue dialed in, without too much trying off a harris with FGMM 175 my result was a nice clover leaf at 100.

I think that 1000 yds is a stretch for a 308 especially with a 16 " barrel It can be done.

I've shot mine beyond 1500 on several occasions, with great success.

I have tested my Larue mounts and they have always returned to 0. Must be a lucky guy with over 8 years or so using these mounts on several different rifles.

I just picked my 18" OBR up and it came with a test target reading .878

There shots touch and then there are 2 flyers. I am sure with load development this will shrink groups under .5 inches.
