Here's one more for this year on Oct 11. It will be about the same as the last one for those that were there. Tom may or may not move things around .... depends on what happens between now and then. Registration at 9:00 and shooting starts at 10:00. Match fee is $10 per gun. If there aren't too many people you may shoot 2 rifles. You'll need a minimum of 18 rounds, but of course bring more. Targets are from 225 yards to 900 yards. Food and drinks available at concession/registration area. Map, phone #, etc. on their web site. http://www.raynersrange.com/
Might be a good idea to have their phone # handy for those that are directionally challenged

You're in Mount Vernon, I'm right around the corner in Marengo. Where do you shoot?

I wish I could get to this match but I'll be just getting in from Denver.

I shoot at Cambells (b/t howard and apple valley) and Centerburg conservation club. I also try to make it to matches at Thunder Valley when I have enough heads up. I go through Marengo on my way to Columbus.

Rayners schedule is posted for next year as well. Schedule

At Rayner's there are 3 positions with 2 targets at each position. You take 3 shots at every target and get 10 points per hit for a total of 18 shots and possible 180 points. The plates are bigger(15") than the ones at TVP, but he may put some smaller ones out next year worth more points and you'll have a choice which ones to shoot at. You can shoot prone or from the benches that are set up.

It doesn't seem right that the year is over already, but it sure was a nice day for shooting rifles. Good to see that 37 people get out of the house and enjoy this game. I think Tom likes seeing everyone else having a good time as much as anything. See everyone in Feb. next year.

That was some good shooting with a handrifle, Dale. 4th place overall out of 37 is something to be pretty happy about.
