Help! I just completed my OCW test on my 308 DPMS SASS AR-10.
I followed the procedure and shot round robin, calm day, 1 minute between shots.
Just not sure what to do? The POI's are just all over, but each groups remain consistent.

What do I do?

We'll my velocities on the last two charges were around 2700.
I had no pressure signs when I worked up to that point and even during test.
I also had these test at lower charges from 42.5 through 45 but I did it at .5 increments I understand to be too far apart.

Here are those results.

Previous test

I never got pressure signs on any of the high charge rounds, top two charges ran about 2700 fps.

I ran the test earlier with charges from 42.5-45 grains but had .5 increments which was to wide.

My DPMS SASS's sweet spot is 42.5gr Varget under 175 SMKs OR 178 AMAXs (both shoot great) at mag length. Shoots bugholes, at around 2640, IIRC. I agree with Dan and 918, your loads seem reaally hot for that gun. Mine started abusing brass over 44gr.

My velocity is around 2500 at 45 grains
I'm afraid I will be shooting really slow at 42g. Like I said earlier I didn't get to 2600 range until I get to 45-46 grains

Well, at 45gr you are inaccurate. We gave you advice to solve that. Decide which you care about, velocity or accuracy. Look at your target marked 42.5 gr, it's trying to tell you something. Why are you so hung up on speed anyway? An 18" barrel SASS is probably not burning all 45 gr of Varget anyway, so you may not lose as much velocity as you think. As I stated, mine runs in the mid 2600s on 42.5gr.

Not trying to argue, just seems odd on my velocities and I am in process of loading a lower batch for ocw test now. I will let y'all know how next test goes. Hope y'all are right.
