On my AR10 on the last round of the magazine, for some reason the charging handle always comes loose. Is this normal? doesn't seem like it should do this, but i don't know what is causing it. Could it be from the bolt slamming back hard enough it jars the latch loose? its always on the last round in the mag.

Also when I shut the bolt it is really hard to break open initially. What i mean is the first 1/4" is really hard then it pulls normal after that. Sorta like the case is slightly stuck in the chamber and once its broke free it is easy to pull again. However, it does it will all factory and resized reloaded ammo as well. What cuases this? When no round in the chamber it doesn't behave that way.

For referrence this is on a Stag AR10 in 6.5cm with adjustable gas block running a suppressor. It now has a Wilson combat barrel on it as I got sick of the crappy factory barrel

What charging handle is it? It should not come loose. Is the slot where it latches really worn?

As for the other issue, I would look for irregular wear on the locking lugs and bolt. And it might be a good idea to check headspace. Maybe even polish the chamber a little. It sounds weird.

Good luck with it.

Its a factory charging handle that looks just like a factory AR-15 only longer. I thought it was from the heavier extended reach lever/latch handle i had on it. however i put the factory back on and its doing the same. This Stag AR-10 has been a pile of crap since i got it with so many issues. I sent it back to them to check out and they refused warranty cause i changed the stock... So never ever buy a stag firearm!!!!

This new barrel i polished the feed ramps and back of the lugs on the barrel. that way it isn't scratching brass/bullets. I haven't polished the chamber but found it odd how it gets that sticky feeling on two different barrels.

would polishing the bolt lugs help with that? i haven't noticed anything odd, but haven't look for it either on them.

Can you extract the case by hand with the charging handle? That would say under gassed to me as I had the same issue with my MSR-10. If you have to mortar the gun to get the case out that would tell me over gassed. The charging handle issue... That's just weird! I would think the BCG would have to come all the way out for that to occur unless the t- slot that lets you load it is completely wallowed out and even then I thought the front of charging handles has a metal face that the gas tube can pass through so it can get to the gas key? Seem like it would be impossible for it to come lose if the BCG is installed.
P.S. For what's it's worth I am very new to AR platforms and just repeating information that was given to me / what I have observed...

I can extract the case by hand, but it is difficult. to get the bolt to move the first little ways I have to use my thumb and push against the scope. once it breaks free the first little bit i can cycle it like normal.

the reason the bolt charging handle is allowed to come free is because it is happening on the last round. Thus the bolt is locked back so if the charging handle is unlatched it can slide freely. That makes me wonder now if it does it on everyshot, but the bolt is pushing it closed so quickly i don't see it......
