oehler two screen chronograph

Re: oehler two screen chronograph

YES!!!

This is a great chronograph.

It is the model I would have bought if the whole kit didn't take as much room up as it does (I have very little "extra" space in our RV where my wife and I live fulltime now).

Re: oehler two screen chronograph

Calrifying for the original poster: The Oehler is a TWO CHANNEL chronograph (takes 2 independent readings of the speed of each bullet, and if they don't match, assumes it made an error and alerts you).

This requires THREE screens.

So, there should be 3 physical screens, and wiring cables for each of the 3 screens.

"Unless it isn't a 35P and is an earlier one."

Yes, but $150 is over priced for any older standard chronograph. So, it stands; "It should have three screens".

Re: oehler two screen chronograph

When I bought my Oehler 35P back in the 1980's I seem to remember that they could be bought with 2 skyscreens or 3 and with or without a paper roll printer. I elected to buy the 3 skyscreen model at that time without the printer. Mine is still in use and in fact used it today. I would check to make sure that you don't need the 3rd screen and I think they will operate with only a start and stop screen. You could contact Oehler for facts and if a third skyscreen could be bought for that unit. I have been wrong a couple times before??

Re: oehler two screen chronograph

A good suggestion to contact Oehler. They are very helpful, even talking to a lady one time, I had my doubts that I was wasting my time telling her about a technical problem, but she was correct and after calling in another, more knowledgable gentleman, he verified that everything she said was true. And, I didn't suggest that she didn't know, in fact, as she talked, I could tell that she was not just somebody that answered the phones; she was just that thorough. They seem to take all questions very seriously, I wouldn't hesitate a second to call them and ask. BB
