Officer caught moonlighting while on duty

So when they deployed it to shut down the bar in Texas because of COVID-19? Good or bad?

Why haven't they been using them to open the streets that BLM and antifa have been shutting down? Or to shut down the riots in a couple dozen major cities?
Do you know how many sanitation guys are killed or injured every year picking up your garbage?
Do you know how far down the list of dangerous jobs police are?
By that logic, lets take away armor from the military. We could probably do without the airplanes too. There just isn't enough death to warrant any of that.

Says the guy that pulled someone over for driving like shit. Driver is not impaired and is just driving like shit. Does he get a warning to straighten up? A ticket for driving like shit? And sent on his way. Somehow his vehicle is searched and a treasure trove of almost illicit shit gets him arrested? I'm sure that there's more to the story.

Nice assumptions. His license was suspended, and the car he was driving, which wasnt registered him, went to car jail, vehicle was inventoried. Go ahead, tell me how im a tyrant.

back in the day, i mowed lawns for money (no allowance, but dad paid for the gas).
i would mow lawns for free if needed. it is sad this mentality is missing now except for a few.

/or my dad would make me. whatever.

Hey look, the military doesn't even make the list! Casual number crunching says we got them beat in the last 20 years when compared to number of personnel involved.

This is tongue in cheek of course, mostly because the “not enough cops are dying” argument is stupid.

So what is your point?
I could give you pretty good answers to each but I don't think that is what you are after.

Like .mil tanks at Waco?

Or Boston bombers

Also. You give a bunch of hut huts toys they are going to use them. No knock warrants should never be issued for drugs etc. Only when people’s lives are at risk.
Not going to argue with you about instances where shit is used when it shouldn't be.

I think just about everybody on here agrees Waco was a huge, over-reaching cluster phuck where they just kept pouring more bad decisions on top of bad decisions because they were too proud to question the operation to begin with. Government officials from Janet on down should have been arrested over the entire poor decision chain.

I'm just saying your two examples are on the extreme end of over-reaction and both were absolutely uncalled for.
For every stupid over-reacting armor deployment, there are probably 5,000 across the country that you personally would be good to go with if you had the details.

This is the same ratio of logic that a lot of people use to say every (fill in the blank) is bad because some worthless prick that shouldn't have ever been employed by that group acts an ass.

Pretty sure we are not going to change each other's mind so I will just respectfully agree to disagree.

back when i was still in high school, i almost got a ticket for driving like an asshole.

me and a buddy were working on our cars and after giving it a tuneup we took my car for a test drive.
there is one street that has a dip that collects water and i might have spun the tires a little bit.

anyway, somebody called the police and shortly after parking the car again to wash it, the police pulled up.
so i told him i had just tuned up the car and was "surprised" by the amount of power and apologized for the burn out.
so he hands me his ticket book and asks me to find the box for "driving like an asshole"
i told him i couldn't find it and handed the book back to him, and he says
"lucky for you, because if there was a ticket for driving like an asshole, i'd be writing you one right now."
and he left.

Top 5, and I don’t go drama queening about “don’t know if I’ll make it home” or have a defaced/colored American flag to represent my “struggle”

...and I don’t want one. I even manage to get by without qualified immunity 😮

Cops and teachers are the most whiny bitches, with welfair hoodlums and politicians in a tie for 3rd place.

it's in the 50s when you take out one of the cities used in the statistics. Some crazy stat like 70% was from 3 areas alone. I forget which one but a study was done on police fatalities and injuries that was sent around to NJ troopers a few yrs ago. Was pretty interesting and if I can find it, I'll upload it.

The PR value of what he did will do far more good for the department than the “cost” to the city in perps not arrested for a new minutes.

Protect and Serve. Serve. It’s why you stop and help a kid with a broken bicycle. Or shoot some hoops for a few minutes. Or talk with the hunters about the buck in their truck and hear the story of how they got it. Or help a senior Citizen carry groceries into the house. Or go BUY some groceries out of your own pocket for someone having a bad spell.

Those are parts of the job, too. And are far more important than an extra few minutes of running radar.

Kudos on the officer.

Well said. I totally agree

I get it man I do.....but on the flip side, imagine you just had your house broken into, or your kid is missing, and you turn on the news and you see cops playing basketball or mowing lawns.....how much faith is that going to Instill in the police?

Frankly I don't think police ( or any state agency) should be filling the roll of family, the church, or neighbors to do community service
Spoken like a man who truly doesn’t understand how policing works

The posts on this thread are why I don't participate as often as I did the first time I signed up here. The man did a good deed for an elderly lady. Not to mention after doing a wellness check to make sure she wasn't in distress or dead and stupid motherfuckers question it. Hope you never get old or have elderly parents

Good thing that mower didn't chuck a rock through someone's window, car door, hit the neighbors kids.....

It would really suck for the city/county taxpayers to pay for the repairs.
Lawyers!!

It's a really stupid way to judge the danger of a job, but as you love to hear, you do you. A better way would be to understand the max danger circumstance you might face on an every day basis. Like those guys in the video I posted above.

Lol what

dead is dead

maimed is maimed

Cops would be a lot better off if they weren’t like a high strung horse scared of everything and out to kick and bite everything.
That and having to “win” every situation.

if micro peen wasn’t trying to “win” against the crowd saying “let him up” he wouldn’t be in jail for the next 20 years
