Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Intersting. I know they had some problems with the county a little while back because the name was too scary. I thought it dealt with Sniper Country, though. I'm sure someone with the answer will chime in shortly.

I really want a vinyl decal of my dta for truck window. I had a buddy who I thought could do the computer part but hes too busy. and I've got a guy who prints them. Anyone out there able to take a picture and trace the outline?? I can send a couple pics of my rig with suppressor. let me know what background would work the best. It can be solid or outline with the center maybe saying DTA? Make a great tee shirt too.

Thanks for any help

The name change is unexpected and a bit confusing. I wonder if they had some kind of ongoing dispute with gear company Desert Tactical? It seems like for years people were just calling DTA "Desert Tactical", especially if you look at YouTube videos from SHOT shows. "So and so here with Desert Tactical, taking a look at their new HTI rifle." etc.

I would think it is more of a business structuring change. I would bet that Desert Tactical Arms, will still be the name for the rifle company. Consider, Desert Tactical Munitions. Then there are the suppressors.

I have not spoken to them about it, but this would seem logical from my standpoint.

It's the never ending saga of a small company trying to diversify, separate divisions under one company name. If this true it will allow them to shuffle money between divisions while the parent company remains strong, seen it happen many times. We can speculate until our fingers get bloody from the key board strokes and Nick if he deems necessary will let it be known. Meanwhile I just want to shoot!

Did anyone else notice DTA changed names? Website says DesertTech - Tomorrows Weapons.

Yes. The Covert rifles that were just delivered to me from DTA have "Desert Tech LLC" labeled on the side as the manufacturer of the firearms. If you look at some of the previous models they are labeled as being manufactured by Desert Technology & Mfg LLC and earlier models were labeled as being manufactured by Desert Tactical Arms.

I am not sure whey they made the change, but I know that exporting anything the has the name or title of "Tactical" in it is a major headache.

Guys we are sending out several press releases on the name change that goes into more depth of the name change.

News - Desert Tactical Arms

Don't worry we didn't sell out or anything like that. We really liked our old name and logo but to accomplish our long-term goals a name change was an important part, one that helps keep our focus on developing new technologies and makes us a more global friendly company that will allow us to support our friends in countries that are afraid of scary names. We have also separated management of each of the entities to ensure that each has the freedom to grow on its own while continuing to work together to create tomorrows weapons. We have some very exciting things happening behind the scenes. One of the biggest ones is the massive development that the training center has under-gone and the instructor pool and newly appointed management. There are several other goodies in the works too but you will have to wait for those. :)

Desert Tech, LLC = Manufacturers rifles and accessories
Desert Tech Munitions, LLC = Manufactures ammunition
Desert Tech Training Center, LLC = Conducts Training, and rents/leases its training facility
DTA Dist, LLC = Distributes Desert Tech products and other industry products within the USA.

Desert Tactical Arms is a way cooler name. You should just export guns under the desert technologies name.

Your guns also look evil (which is why i can just sit and stare at mine:)) Screw the commies, you should keep your baddass name to go along with your badass products.

Maybe Desert Tech, LLC will get some "new technology" and build left handed rifles !!!
There are a lot of lefty shooters around the globe too.

Your wrong, If we continue to build right handed only rifles, these diseased freaks will soon learn to shoot properly like the rest of civilized humanity. Someday, I hope to hand down a world free of lefties to our children.

so if you don't mind, what do you guys think is another rifle that is just as good as a dta system? have plenty of room in the safe so im gonna go get something else tell mine shows up. tryed calling and couldn't get an answer of eta, so im shopping.

Maybe a wind runner, DSR or AI like mentioned earlier. Or a custom in a t4f. Not much else out there. If you fold the stock you get about the length of a dta. In my opinion if you have spare cash I'd start buying stuff for the DTA. Conversion kits, extra mags, reloading components, glass/mounts. It all adds up very quickly. I'd say if you add that all up you're easily over 10 grand if you did it right.

I know all you evil right handed shooters are tired of getting their asses kicked by lefties, So I guess the brass at DTA are listening to the whiners, or are in the global collaboration to piss off lefty shooters too ?
Living in NY, I'm used to disappointment.

Nick,

I placed my order with EuroOptic back in early November and was told it would be 4 months for my rifle to show up. Well, it ended up being just 4 weeks. That was awesome. I also ordered at the same time from them the Seekonk torque wrench, two extra 300 WM magazines and a bore guide. None of those items have shown up. I called them last week and was told they did not know when these items would show up from DTA because they had 't received any of that type stuff from them in 8 months or so.

My simple point was, you guys have been very focused on business decisions and rifle production.

Yet, I ordered mine directly from DTA via my LGS back in April and I still haven't received it?!?!?

I am a Premier Dealer for DTA. I placed orders back at SHOT in January with DTA and I have only received about 20% of my orders. Your order will eventually come up.

You will love your DTA in .260. I have been shooting the same rifle over the last 2 years and it is outstanding. I actually just took delivery of my first .260 conversion from my SHOT orders.

I hear you RMW... I know I made the right decision by getting a DTA but I have a hard time grasping how the ordering process works... Would you mind posting some pics of that .260 to cheer me up ahah?! :)

I happen to have a few in stock if you are still interested in an SRS.

I've one SRS I bought here on the Hide in August and love it. Agree that the 260 conversion is especially nice! Still waiting for the one I ordered in March from local FFL. It is definitely worth the wait! Don't give up yet guys. The wait is well worth it. As mentioned above, while waiting pick up some of accessories you'll need once your rifle arrives. Use your time and money wisely. While AIs are nice, they're not DTAs!!!

We always have those parts in stock and they should have them.

As far a the comment on europtic delivery. They have orders with us that are just as old as anyone likely the rifle you got from euro they had been waiting for several months for prior to you ordering it.

As far as backlog we are working hard to catch up the orders. Changing our name doesn't slow down our machines or any part if production.

Joe,
Quit posting pictures of that thing!!! When you get tired of the AI just let me know. I like my SRS alot but...I will tell you when I got to spend some time behind one just like yours (260 kit) my SRS seemed very antiquated and to me there is NO comparison in ANY way shape or form. That thing is the sh!ts, I just can't afford one right now!!! :(

Dirty Harry,
No one can fault you if you are done waiting, but you will always question if this is a good move. Why is the wait so long? Because the product is that good! There is no rifle like it, and people want it. LOTS of people.

Just my thoughts,
Ty

The srs a1 is probably the only rifle I'm 100% certain I'll keep for life. Barrel wears out? Easier to replace with no gunsmith. Bolt wears out? 250-350 bucks replaces it. Want a different caliber? 1 minute and it's whatever caliber I want. The versatility design and size of the srs put it in a category of it's own. Sure the AI are awesome but I'm a fan of shorter weapons because I carry mine a lot through the woods and whatnot. They are also far lighter than an AI.

I bought mine locally with no wait. The guy ordered them at shot. I paid 4800 for a a1 covert in fde fde with monopod? I think I made out pretty good considering there was no wait and I bought ftf so no tax
