I bought a monopod. Does it just screw in is there something special I need to know about installing it?

Gotta love an accurate rifle

Finally finished my powder testing on my new DT A1 7LRM. Now time to move on to seating depth.
Greg at Primal Rights put this together.
TS Customs 22” 1-8 tw
71g H1000, 180 Berger Hybrids seated 10 thou off the lands
2898fps
Recoil is very manageable especially prone off bipod.
Love this rifle, wish I had bought one much sooner.

Which mount is that for the magnetospeed? Juat out of curiosity

Just ordered the srs covert lefty in fde, should be here in a few days. Getting the barrel and what not done from SAC. I have vortex razor gen ii 3-18x50mm on a larue mount. Would that mount suffice or should I get the one from desert tech? I'd rather not spend more than I already have lol. Btw anyone in Maryland on the Eastern shore know a good range to go to? Thanks

Welcome! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as the rest of us have. My original Covert setup was also topped with a gen2 razor. Great scope for the money. You’ll be a few barrels in before you even realize it haha

I cant wait to be able to finally take her out and run her through. I've been wanting one ever since they came out. They didn't always have one for the south paw guys. I still have plenty of time to get behind her until rifle season for deer opens. I want to get the 300wm barrel kit as well but I probably won't do that until I actually get pulled for an Elk tag.

Well.....I ordered my SRS-A1 chassis earlier today. I ordered a variety of accessories as well. .308 bolt, .338 bolt, mags, etc. I've contacted SAC to have them make 2 barrels for me. I haven't been this excited about a firearm in quite awhile.
I had a semi for 6 weeks straight until my barrels finally arrived. You hand load your own ammo?
If so; What do you have planned for projectiles and powder for the 338 barrel?

I do load my own ammo. I’m actually going to be running 300 Norma, hence the .338 bolt. My initial plan is to run the Hornady 220 eld-x bullets. As for powder, not sure yet.

Quick question guys, so I bought the wrench from desert tech but its rated at 80lbs. In the manual it says that the SRS should be at 70lbs. The manual even says you would void the warranty if you over torque the rifle. Why would they sell a wrench that is rated 80lbs when you need a 70lbs one for the srs rifle?

Hey guys, I am new to the SRS platform and most everything about it. Initially I have been getting into LR shooting with a R700 (.308) and a Seekins SP10 (6.5). My boss has a SRS that I have been able to play around with, and I recently took the plunge and purchased the SRSA1 in 6.5 and .300 Win. I am picking up the rifle next week from SAC and I am very excited to get my hands on the rifle. I had them make the barrels for me and get practically everything together for my rifle. Really great experience so far with them, and having them piece together my whole build. Thanks to everyone on this thread, I have searched through dozens of pages to get more of a sense of the rifle. Once I have it in my hands I will make sure to share pictures!

I don't think ten pounds either way is going to hurt anything.

They haven't updated the book but they standardized to 80in/lbs because that's what the HTI is using so that they only have to sell 1 torque wrench for both rifles. You're fine.

I believe the HTI uses an 80 in/lb wrench - I bought a screwdriver that does a variety of in/lb settings so I can use it on DTA's plus for scopes - it is larger but I am mostly using it at home vs having it in the case with the rifle.

Thanks for the fast response guys, thats why I love this forum
Covert has the correct answer. Mine shipped with a manual stating 70 in/lbs but their website has the updated manual at 80 in/lbs for barrel retention screws.

https://deserttech.com/manuals.php

My only thought on this is that the 80 in/lbs might shift my point of impact versus my 70 in/lbs so I haven't switched over on the older barrels.

I'm having two barrels made by SAC and echo your comments. My experience has been great with them. Seem like really good people. Even though I don't need another .223 in any kind of platform I'm seriously considering the SAC .223 conversion. Would be a super fun setup.

How long is the turnaround for SAC the do a barrel? I'm still considering a .223 but they don't make one for us South paw guys yet. I'll definitely get a 300 as soon as I get pulled for an elk tag

I ordered a .223 heavy contour with straight fluting in January and it took about 5 weeks to my door. Fluting usually adds around 1 week to the delivery from what I was told.
