DTSS POA shift is < or = 1.5" vertical drop when installed, consistent, every time.

PSR development is still ongoing, we just showed some of the highlights on the military version of the SRS rifle at Shot Show. It will be a military only rifle, however we may entertain some type of PSR upgrade kit for SRS rifles in the future, but it's all up in the air right now.

Thank you Sir, it reflects very well on you guys that you are on here speaking directly with consumers....
That information helps. I am not interested in the PSR rifle itself as I am not all about the "military issue" stuff, but those mods did catch my eye. I can certainly live without the others, but please consider this a request for a set of upgraded skins with the adjustable comb! I know 99% of folks are fine with it, but I prefer it anyway.
Thanks again for being forthcoming, and I hope to be supporting DTA in the very near future.

SRSDRIVER when I ordered mine it called for FDE/FDE and I was thinking it was gonna be the coyote tan. When I pulled it outta the box it was darker then I thought i had seen in photos of other SRS's. I will try and get a picture poster for ya soon.

That isn't mine, I was posting the picture Rowdyryno was trying to post.

I do have an SRS, same color chassis, but mine doesn't match my kitchen cabinets at all. Well, actually, it does some, I have black cabinets and my rail and receiver are black, so never mind the prior.

For the SRS crowd, or maybe DTA: can I get a new foam insert for my Pelican case that has cut-outs for 2 barrels/conversions? I have the standard length setup and my DTA-Pelican case has room for one additional barrel but not room for 2. In this configuration, there is no room for me to cut in another barrel channel/bolt spot. If DTA doesn't sell one, I can just buy another set of Pelican 1720 foam, but DTA does a better job than me cutting in.

Another SRS-owner question: who is turning their barrel down to 5/8x24?

None of my cans are 3/4x24 and I am not buying a new can when I have 30-cal cans lined up. I have an adapter but it is the weakness in this equation and I'd rather remove that variable.

Reasons not to re-thread? (It seems to me, at least in 30-cal, it won't hurt the value as almost any new user interested in shooting suppressed will have a 5/8x24 can. It actually raises the value for many.)

I would never turn down the barrel of my SRS, any of them. The adapters if well made will work well enough for those who don't want to adapt the can to the gun. Turning down the barrel can create a number of problems that are not easily fixed. Any barrel that is cold worked in any way can have internal stresses that will cause things to move when you remove material. Ask any of the barrel makers what happens when you turn down their blanks. The removal of the material can allow the bore to open up slightly or to change shape. Its one thing to have this happen in midbore and quite something else to have it happen at the muzzle. Every study seems to show that a choke at the muzzle is preferable to having the bore expand at that point. This can occur with hammer forged and button rifled barrels but is less likely with cut rifled barrels.
Reason 2 is strength. For example we'll use the .308 though its kind of on the edge here, anything bigger is definitely a "go with 3/4 or bigger threads deal". With a bore diameter of .308" and a thread diameter of .625" one might think that you've got .317" of steel between the bore and the can....actually .1585" on each side of the bore. In reality you have the depth of thread which is .0549" in a 24 pitch if I recall and a thread relief of approximately .060" so our .1585" is now .1285" or just over an eighth of an inch on each side of the bore. Will that support the can and prevent the pressure from yanking the suppressor off the barrel? Yes it will, we've proven that in practice. On the other hand what sort of odd vibration characteristics are allowed by that thin bit of steel holding onto what might be a pretty heavy can? By using the .750-24 thread you have an additional .125" of diameter or .0625" which equates to .191" on each side of the bore. That extra 1/16" of steel adds a lot of strength and stiffness to the equation.

For the purposes of suppressors on high powered rifles bigger is always better. I've seen a number of 9mm suppressed barrels that have been broken off due to the thin barrel using the 1/2-28 thread and I've seen one 5/8-24 barrel broken off due to a rifle being used as a "crutch" by a falling shooter. I'm sure it doesn't happen often and is pretty unlikely but for the little trouble it offers I'm sticking with the larger thread. All the cans I make for the guns are using the 3/4-24 thread. I've opened up a couple endcaps on other suppressors for guys who wanted to use their cans on rifles with the 3/4 thread. Varmint sized barrels can normally be rethreaded with the 3/4" thread so you get a new thread and crown and lose about .625" of barrel length. Any of this is doable and yes it will cost something but each must choose. The larger thread is more solid, more stable and less likely to cause issues with your bore. For those reasons alone its worth doing. Make a choice for yourself but be aware of what you're doing and why. Do some research before making that choice.

If a smith does a good job it won't hurty your .30 cal (and smaller) barrels to turn them down to 5/8", I prefer more meat and the ability to put one suppressor on all of the barrels which you won't be able to do with a 5/8" can.

In regards to the custom foam for the pelican style cases, cutting your own foam is not the best option because the standard foam supplied with pelican's cases is weak and will rip very easily. Our foam is a very stiff high-density foam which allows us to put accessories very close to getter and fit more in the case and much less likely to rip, although occasionally UPS sometimes figures out a way. Also our foam is die cut so it looks very attractive and clean.

Has anybody had problems with their SRS rear flush cups not working with a sling? My TAB sling works with every other flush cup I own (including the SRS front rail cups), but when I try to push it into the SRS flush cup it won't push in far enough for the sling to seat and lock into the cup.

I've mailed DTA and am awaiting a response.

Sometimes you get a bit of coating buildup and you have to force them the first couple times to get them to start working.

From Nick, concerning custom foam from DTA:

We don't do custom configurations but you can fit three conversion kits in the existing case. One in the gun with two barrels stacked on top of each other in the slot, just leave the netting on to protect the barrel finish, then you can have one bolt in the gun and two bolts in the slots above the butt end of the rifle.

I use a tab sling with the rear cups without problems. Take a dental pick or small brush and srub the inside radius and see if there is any junk in there...

I took my new caliber conversion out yesterday and shot some amazing groups while testing different loads. I found a couple loads that it preferred, but was able to shoot sub 1/2 MOA groups with all the loads I tried. Man I love this rifle.

Today, I took the SRS out to a local precision match and had a ton of fun. The SRS shot great and I was really digging the quick adjust monopod.

We were shooting on a dry lake bed north of town.

I will post up some group pics once I get a load nailed down. I did shoot a 10 rd group of leftover hand loads of 41.5grs under 140 AMAXs into one ragged hole with a couple of flyers.

The rifles shoot great, huge thanks to all of the folks there at DTA.

Roy, Simon, and Mike are all great shooters! I guess I won't feel lonely with the only DTA in Vegas competitions now.

Try 41.6 of H4350 with a 139 Scener .002" out of the lands Roy. That's Sin City's load, and I haven't seen a 6.5 CM not shoot great with it.

BTW, if thats the dry lake just past the Caliente turn off to I 15, watch your head! A year ago, my family and I was on that lake bed shooting, riding 4-wheelers and generally acting like red necks when a Canadian F18 had problems, and dropped both of its fuel tanks. One hit 200 yards behind us, and the other was about 50 yards from my truck! (now Kurts truck)

I guess thats a question you've got to answer for yourself. As someone who does barrel work I'd say yes, its worth it. You're looking at the cost of a good quality barrel blank at about $300-400, a barrel extension $400+, a bolt $350 and a mag at $100+ in addition to the work to put the barrel together. I don't think its a bargain deal but its priced reasonably and compared to the cost of having a rifle built to shoot whatever cal your conversion is in its cheap.

Just my opinion of course.

chassis
308, and 338 LM (in hindsight I would have got 243, and 338)
Pelican case
30 MOA rings/base
sling
cleaning kit
4 mags
cleaning rod
Harris bipod with quick detach pic mount
Sekonk torque wrench

I needed all of this, and I figured that if I bought all of it separately it would have cost me $1000-1500 more.

im curious.. why would you have chosen the .243 over the .308?
