That does seem like a better design. I'd argue a level of some sort would be nice, so you can adjust it roughly where you know you need it on your table.
I would guess so, since they said they're out of the Gen 2's and aren't making them anymore.
I am glad i got the V2 designs in both of my setups. Wonder how much more the V3 will be over the V2?
I really dont think its going to be cheap to have a phone app and another device to connect this setup.

Why would you have a V2 and a dandy trickler?
Bluetooth radios are getting super cheap due to smart phones, USB dongles and "Internet of Things" applications.
Depending on the hardware he used, I bet it's not more than a $2-3 increase in the bill of materials and might have even reduced it. Of course there is the cost of developing a phone app so it's not free but I don't see it adding too much cost.
One other V3 difference is the trickler base 3D print looks different. It might have finer adjustment with that angled foot.
I can't tell if there is anything going on with the Auto-throw beside the cover. Maybe it just contains powder leaks from the Lee measure?

The v1 to the v2 was the same price and that was the actual trickler that was improved. I doubt this different 3d printed base will be that much more costly to include a little capped screw. Now whatever is under that kidknapping throw cover in the video could possibly drive the price up.
Looking at that thrower more closely now (and after a few more cups of coffee this morning) it sure looks like the powder measure is offset, and a funnel is being used (versus the bent straw dealio) to dispense the powder without it bouncing all over the place....

The Open Trickler has bluetooth already and you can build your own today for roughly $60.

The v2 kit with Area 419 hardware has an adjustable base as well. The sock on the thrower looks pretty lame.
The site says the v2 can be upgraded to v3, so my guess is the upgrade is more of a software/interface thing like you said in a prior post.
Yeah, I'm willing to bet it's just a swap of the circuit board in the rear of the scale. BT h/w is small enough to fit on a new board without a lot of headaches...

Yep, I waited on the auto throw on my second setup until now. Ordered the chip and autothrow this morning.

I know they're both the scale + autotrickle, its the pros/cons to all the accessories I have no clue about.

I'd say the powder thrower is the big difference (and I'd suspect it's made by 419). the circuit board of the V3 is (obviously a big plus), but the new trickler base is still 3D plastic (so I'd guess 419 will probably come out with AL billet version of that after awhile).
Today I'd opt for the newer kit (can't buy the older one anyways), and just wait to see what 419 offers as an upgrade. The ability to throw ball powder and set the powder measurement via your phone is what is key with this new kit.

Yep, that's everything. What made the V2 $500 more, was when everyone added the full 419 upgrade kit to it (billet trickler base, billet powder measure base, 1/2 thick lexan scale top, improved powder drop tube/funnel, powder cup and cup tray). There is/was a fair amount of stuff in the 419 upgrade kit, some of it still relevant to the V3, but the basic CE kit will work fine with some of these new improvements. The V3 price is in line with the V2 (without the A419 upgrade kit), which is why they probably waiting until the bulk of the remaining V2's were sold out until they announced the V3 (that'd be how I'd do it).
I have been trying to piece together reloading stuff, and came across the funnels from Area 419. I saw the kit and came here to research this. For the whole assembly, it seems to be double the price of a Chargemaster. While I'm not opposed to spending the money, can someone please help me understand the performance difference here? Sorry if I sound like a total noob, but because I am, I can't seem to grasp why this would be necessary over the Chargemaster or something similar. Is it based on the time to pour, accuracy, or bling factor?

First and foremost, the autothrow is connected to a lab balance which is much much more accurate and sensitive compared to the chargemaster. It’s also much faster while still maintaining a level or accuracy the chargemaster cannot hold.
With that said, there’s nothing wrong with starting with a chargemaster, it may be all you need.

Quick question to y'all who've ordered the AD FX120i: What was the condition of the package when you got the balance shipped to your residence? Is this something I need to be worried about? What retailer do you recommend to ease my worries?
Overthinking hurts - if you have the area 419 stuff all you need is the new v3 electronics card and you are good , of course you can buy all the other billet upgrades, but the point is you don’t need to - full disclosure I have not used another scale since I Adam got the autothrow working with the 120 - in fact sold my charge masters and have a balance beam somewhere in a box of unused crap gathering dust just in case
If anyone is interested in the Area 419 stuff, be aware that my understanding is Autotrickler is moving to an end-user only distribution model. It appears that no re-seller will be permitted to sell the v3 electronics to an entity that is not an end-user (Area 419 is not a distributor, and not an end-user). Not sure what that means for current shoppers, but if I were thinking about buying a combo kit now would be the time to pull the trigger. The only options in the future may be to buy Autotrickler branded everything and then buy the additional Area 419 kit, or buy your own motors and make your own wires (will take some work to figure out the right combo) so you can buy the scale, v3 card, and Area 419 kit separately.
While I have nothing to do with either business other than I am a customer of both, I think this is a pretty sad situation. Aside from Area 419 having a solid following-- myself included --and their kit being the reason I had enough confidence to purchased the Autotrickler to begin with, options and consumer preference is what builds market share. I don't see how cutting off a quality manufacturer like Area 419 helps a business.

And FYI. I ordered the scale when it was on sale from CE Products, they were $450 plus $20 shipping. If you add the Autotrickler parts (V3), it adds another $490. You can pre-order the full kit from CE for $940 plus shipping, and save yourself some money (about $40 depending on what CE charges for shipping). When the scale went on sale, they did not have the V3 kit listed in terms of price, I only saw it for the first time today, unfortunately.
