Member Link Up Ohio Shooters!

Anybody go to Thunder Valley? Seems like an awesome place with a great price for membership.

I go several times a year. It’s a great place to shoot especially now that they got the roof back up. There is an open range day on Dec. 23rd that I’m planning on attending. Great for gathering data. They have steel from 200-700, 1000, 1100, 1200 and a mile. There used to be targets at 800 and 900 but last time I was there they were either missing or grown over. That’s my only real complaint. As far as membership, there really isn’t. It’s open to everyone for $30 per day, or you can pay $50 for a membership and then it costs $20 a day. I’ve never been able to go enough times in a year to justify the $50. All of their scheduled events and open ranges are on weekends but you can call and schedule to use the facility during the week if they don’t have anything else going on. The easiest way to get the schedule is to follow them on Facebook, but I believe they post it on their site as well.

Where do you get the membership?

It's been my experience that small gun clubs have shitty websites and little to no information on them about how to join. This place seems to be no exception (I looked).

The contacts page has the phones for the president and secretary. I'd start by calling one of them. I bet you find out how to join lickity split.

Hi Guys, I looking to plan a trip to hit a few ranges in Ohio; we are familiar with TVP and Rayners but are looking for other ideas/places across Ohio as part of a road trip/camp trip. We will have three shooters and we all regularly shoot to 1100 at MTC in Michigan but are coming up short on other ideas across Ohio/Eastern Indiana/Western PA/Northern Kentucky. Most of the places we have located online require either memberships or are training facilities that cater more to large groups and training events.

Any other suggestions for places (or other Hide members) that would be okay to have three shooters out for a day (UKD/steel preferably) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Glad this thread came up! I just joined as I'm getting my feet wet with all this and have been having a hard time finding somewhere to shoot some distance. The Clinton Irwin rod and gun club is 15 minutes from my house. A friend of mine and I would be glad to meet up with some guys there to do some shooting sometime.

Every Thursday Evening from 5-9 there is a group of about 30 guys that shoot there for Rifle PSR league. Mondays are open range days. You need to get registered with Practiscore to compete. Maybe even for open range days. You can PM me if you need a contact.

The Wapakoneta Daily News article about Cridersville annexing the land and new ordinances including shooting facilities in their zoning is the last I know of (July 2017). But it's a strong indication that things should be progressing.

I'm guessing another year (summer 2018) if things go well. But, that's just my wild ass guess.

A year has gone by and nothing has happened to move this thing forward. I was hoping against hope but looks like us in the western edge of the state are still screwed.
