You really need to work at it to get those to corrode (can happen, done it, but it takes work).

Anyway, I was looking at my Anvil and it looks to have a different design than yours. Mine is three pieces. Two magnetic top/bottom supports that sandwich a non-magnetic handle. I assume the supports are steel (magnetic stainless, perhaps) and the handle would be aluminum.
