Hey guys

FNG here from the PHX area, on the down hill side of 50. I am. VP of Vehicle Survivibility Programs for a company that builds armor system for the US and NATO military.

Been shooting since i was 6, hunted the crap out of AZ until about 30, then my focus switched to paper, steel and clay. Shoot Tuesday Night Steel when I am in town, sporting clays to support local groups and Glocks at Caswells during lunch a few times a month.

Been shooting AR platforms at the range and take tactical classes when ever i get a chance. Just built 2 new ones over Christmas break. Shot and quallified rio for the CMP program 20 ish years ago and got my CMP Garand while they were still $400. Scored 454 on the qual including 4 shots to adjust the sights after two shot in front of me on the same gun :p

Started to build a AR10 around Thanksgiving thinking of kind of the "lay a way plan" picking up a stripped lower the week of T-Giving. Then NewTown happened and all of the parts that were everywhere vanished.

So i sit here after 5 months with a complete DPMS LR-308 lower waitng on a sanely priced upper of any length and barrel to show up from back order and a few K of 308/762 ammo and nothing to "send it" with.

So now if the deal holds up, Sat @ 11 AM I will take possession of a new 700SPS Varmint 308 in a trade for some silver. This will at least get me a launching platform that I can, like the AR10 platform, build on the "layway plan" as time goes on.

I will probably take a few "safe queens" out and use that for upgrades as time goes by.

So looking fwd to learning from the "shooters" here.

Thanks for the welcome.

Been stormin here big time today. Tons of rain and hail 3 inches deep. Should clear up by the time you get here. Doing anything fun while you are here?
