Hello I just got 2 aimpoint 3000s for a couple of retro builds I’m doing and I noticed the red dots just aren’t that bright compared to modern aimpoints. Is this normal ? I’m not real familiar with classic aimpoints so I’m not sure what expect performance wise.

That would be my guess. 30+ year old tech so I never really have it much thought. Was surprised either of them still turn on, especially considering the electronic was from the 70s. Quality built I suppose for the time and why was available.

On both different older versions I have or had, that was the norm. Don’t run into many people running these older gen aimpoints though. Good luck with the build and can’t wait to see any pics if you post em. When I’m done wrenching on the bug, I’ll post up my 723 clone/ inspired build.

It isn’t exact like a true 731 would be but I took some here and there. Has my qd on now for the can and a teardrop forward assist
