During the Sunny Southeast Asian War Games we always loved it when a flare mission had been flown in the area the night before. We'd all try to be the first bird out in the AO so that we could spot the parachutes hung in the tops of the trees. We'd hover over the tree and have the crew chief or door gunner climb out on the skid and recover the parachute. Made great ceiling liners for our hooches.
