Does anyone know if skins from an older style aics 1.5 chassis will fit on one that came with the newer style 3 piece skins? Thanks for the help.

No. Seems to be all plastic. Was the bolt reinforcment part of the chassis or the skin?

It would be on the chassis. AI changed the chassis ever so slightly this year and stopped adding the raised, black metal piece that is under the bolt handle.
If you have a newer style chassis with an old set of skins (with the cutout for that piece), you'd just have an unsightly cutout around the bolt handle but it would be functional. If you do have the raised piece, chances are your older skins will fit perfectly.
If this is still confusing, I can try to get some pics on Monday.

not to hijack, but they removed it so the bolt rides on the plastic rather then sorta of lock in the U shape metal channel? Ive been seeing different pictres of rifles ya some have them some dont, If I was to order a new 2.0 chasis would it be a crap shoot to what style I got depending on what there inventory is? I liked the look of the U shaped but if they removed it I guess it doesnt have any adverse effects to it other then cosmetic.

Glad I found this old thread. This is the first thing I had heard about old vs. new versions.

Since it is an old style chassis, it has the metal slot for the bolt handle in the chassis, not the plastic slot from the skin. There is some interference between the bolt handle and the chassis, and I think we're going to need to slightly mill out the chassis to clear. Has anyone had to do this before?
Maybe clearance problems like this are exactly why AI changed the design....
Is it easier to just mill down the whole area, to make it like a new chassis , and fit it with new skins (which I kinda want anyway)? Does anyone have pictures / drawings that would show the difference between the old and new versions, so I have a better idea of what to cut?
